What do you call head in the sand. Do you mean the scientists that believe man contributes to warming (100%) but do not agree with much of the orthodoxy of alarmism so are called deniers?

This year we have seen record and near record low temperatures around Australia. On our property we had the longest run of frosts in 20 years. Antarctic ice is at record levels. The lowest temperature ever recorded in Australia (-23) was recorded in 1994. Funny things to happen after 150 years of warming. But wait, these are only 'local' events! Just like the Roman warming and the little ice age. Not like the bushfires last year which were evidence of global warming! Har har har har!!

Local is not the same as global and average temperature is not the same as single measurements

Ian Simmonds; an obscure nobody jumping on the global warming band wagon to be one of the boys to get recognised - just what we need. :icon_pee:

Just glad my kids are not educated by that clown who gets his data and information from other people, and then claims its accurate and factual without doing any research himself.

So this is what passes for a Professor at an Australian University - no wonder our education system is in shambles and going backwards.

Many people have told him that, over and over again. He is either stupid or a decliner of science....

That is correct. So explain why the warming of the Arctic a thousand odd years ago, the warming which enabled the Vikings to colonise Greenland, should be disregarded as a 'local' event but the present warming of the arctic a 'global' event? You could also explain why the agw cultists never mention the huge loss of Arctic that occurred in the early 1920's.
One of the agw high priests once prophecised to the world that the Arctic would be ice free by 2013! Har har har. A bit like high priest Flim Flam telling us we would never see dam filling rains again or that pommy agw high priest telling the poms they were unlikely to see snow again. Har har har har!!!

Only if you will explain why denialists never bother to back claims with actual researched facts

Oh! I know! And every time they try to prove that there is they get their collective backsides kicked

That's funny. So far actual observational science does not support the hypothesis of CO2 centric warming but here you are still claiming nothing is wrong with the hypothesis.

Hard to cherry pick no warming for almost two decades now counter to what was predicted based on CO2 centric models. There are now 29 different explanations for the pause. In other words, they don't really know what is going on.

A flippant reply but I will say it just the same. So when do we start worrying, when the proof is up to our chests, neck, eyes or do we wait until it's over our heads.

You arrive at the airport .... there is an announcement that the pilot of your flight when doing his inspection of the plane was worried about the engine hanging by one worn bolt. You are also informed that the carrier has had it's engineer inspect it and he says that there is no evidence that the engine will fail, and if it does you have another 3. Do you board the plane or cut your losses and book a different flight. Just to be safe?

Well, that is the alarmist message and a very poor analogy. There are now 29 different explanations for the failure of the current hypothesis. Many of them are business as usual, I mean, the missing heat just has to be there somewhere right? The analogy would be more like pre-Wright Brothers when people were hypothesizing about flight even being possible not knowing much about flight.

Do you ruin the economy just on the chance that warming is bad when almost all past disasters were caused by cooling?

Firstly, it wouldn't ruin the economy, change it yes, maybe create a new different more humanistic, ecological one. I would rather you are right than I by the way, boy do I hope you are right.

Anytime politicians (not scientists except for a couple of media whores) fear monger as much on anything you should be weary.

Not exactly, I am a scientist and I work with scientists and most I know have actually critically examined the works more than I have.

I'm lazy I use an equation of my own

If we do something and they are right we may survive, if they are wrong we have a cleaner more ecological and sustainable world. Win Win
If we don't do something and they are wrong, you can gloat and we all save around $20 per week, but if they are right, then .................................
