Well, I like to get something of my chest. When the Israelis responded quite fiercely against Hamas' rockets, I saw all this overall craziness on Facebook from my friends. In the media, quite respected people started to speak about "Gazacaust". And I thought by myself: Now, we hear and see things all in the name of Islam. Women and children being burried alive. Heads on spikes,... Seriously...this is like an episode of "The Tudors" when Henry VIII goes all crazy... Belgian muslims taking their children of 5 y.o. to this "caliphate". Children posing with cut-off heads... And now I don't see anything on Facebook or I don't hear my friends protesting or claiming anything... Anyone has an opinion about this?
I agree it's not consistent but I think it is relevant that in one case you have the actions of a democratic government and in the other you have actions of largely independent individuals. Rightly or not, it's easier to feel that there is a possibility of influencing the actions of the Israeli state than there is of some scattered terrorists and extremists.
