This has NOTHING to do with Obama... The family has filed a lawsuit against Habersham County... They will end up paying all the baby's medical expenses and then some.

...but it sounds to me like the criminals were hiding behind their baby.

If you don't even know why SWAT was there, you don't have enough information to start labeling people. Fact is, this happened some time ago, and the info IS out there. One piece of information you should be aware of is that the person SWAT was looking for, contrary to your ASSumption of "hiding behind the baby", wasn't even there.

 

Both parties own the War on Drugs. In fact, Democrats are in control of it right now.

According to News accounts at the time... the police had been watching to house for many months... Meanwhile the criminals moved out and this family with the baby had just moved in the rental house.

 

You could never accuse the US police of being the sharpest knives in the drawer.

 

The Atl police did this a few years ago... A swat team busted in the door of a 80-90 year old black woman and shot her.

 

First, you can thank the war on drugs for events like this happening.
Second, you can also blame this on "no knock warrants"
Third, tone down the propaganda.

Yeah, there definitely needs to be some type of training done within our local police forces to straighten out a few kinks. Now the whole Michael Brown thing, I think those cops are doing the right thing. If people would stop using peaceful demostrations during the day as a cover to take over the streets at night for party-like rioting and looting, vandalism, amongst a whole slew of other offenses, then these guys wouldn't have to go in like they're trying to take our ISIS.

So many mistakes are made these days - we definitely need some reinforcement training for these guys, some fact checking training in this case.

Yes, this "war on drugs" is a complete failure and does little more than jam jails with people who have committed minor offences, thus costing the nation countless millions in incarceration and administrative costs. As a cost/benefit exercise it fails. It is no more than a prolonged PR exercise designed to placate the shrieking conservative who still believes the 'reefer madness' schtick from the 1940s.

It doesn't matter, actaully, who were the people in the house. What matters is that the SWAT operation was not properly prepared and, as a result, they were obviously not aware of the children in the house and of the location of their bedroom. It's definitely a case of criminal negligence. The responsible people should be prosecuted and cover the medical expenses for the poor kid.

 

Yeah, as if that's likely to happen. Damage limitation wagon-circling is happening as we speak. Guaranteed.
