BEIRUT — An Internet video purports to show the beheading of U.S. journalist Steven Sotloff by the Islamic State group.

Sotloff, who freelanced for Time and Foreign Policy magazines, had last been seen in Syrian in August 2013 until he appeared in a video released online last month by the Islamic State group that showed the beheading of fellow American journalist James Foley.

Dressed in an orange jumpsuit against the backdrop of an arid Syrian landscape, Sotloff was threatened in that video with death unless the U.S. stopped airstrikes on the group in Iraq.

In the video distributed Tuesday and entitled "A Second Message to America," Sotloff appears in a similar jumpsuit before he is beheaded by an Islamic State fighter.

And reports Obama didn't get just a briefing a year ago but the entire intelligence report which warned of the threat they were becoming. And he sits impotent. They are a "concern".

 

More blood on Obama's hands. This victim was only 31 yrs old.

 

As the West imports more Muslims in the name of "multiculturalism" (and left-wing votes), we can look forward to more of this kind of behavior. Just consider it a necessary sacrifice. The fruiting plant of diversity can only bloom when watered with blood.

I'm not sure that I care. I heard James Foley once tweeted that the "United States was the greatest enemy of democracy".... He was a big liberal. I wonder if this guy is also a liberal too? He was after all a Time reporter.

Oh well... yes, we need to stop the terrorist.. but if they kill a bunch of panzy liberals, I could care less...

I think when Foley said that, he was drugged and being forced to read what they had told him to say. Unless there was a prior statement from him that I haven't heard about (not only possible but highly likely).

 

The purpose behind this over the top rhetoric?

 

What should Obama do? Send in ground troops? Get us into another endless quagmire?

 

It's probably too late now, since their are probably cash awards out there for the capture of any Westerner by ISIS and they will continue this type "terrorism" as long as they can. What I fear most is that it could happen inside the US, be treated as a crime and what ever lid on this stuff remains, will blow away. Hope I'm wrong, but things don't look good, Obama in Europe today, hugging people that otherwise, wouldn't give him the time of day.....

I wish Obama would call for a stronger response to ISIS with every beheading by ISIS.

Hit them where it hurts. It sucks for whoever captives get beheaded in the beginning. But, we've got to take a hard stance and show them who's boss. Otherwise more people will die in the end.

You can't negotiate with terrorists.

 

Nobody that complains about "what" Obama has, or has not done regarding this issue has any real workable expectations about "what" Obama should do.

The GOP wants people to think "Obama hasn't done anything", thus feeding their narrative.

I don't see one GOP poltician saying we need to send "X" amount of drones, to "X" place, and arm certain Kurdish fighters with "X" equipment, and put "X" sanctions on whomever........they just say things like he hasn't showed leadership, or he's giolfing too much, or something even less specific about what he should do

It's very easy to say Obama has done nothing, and blame him for the beheading of a reporter who knowingly deployed himself into a war zone...with vague platitudes that conservatives and thier tabloid media will throw around like Hyenas in a feeding frenzy.

Every one of you conservatives is going right back to defending everything the president does...even if they do the same thing Obama is doing now...just because they'll be a Republican president when they take back the white house in 2016. There will also not be so much as a peep about Government spending from the Tea Party.
