I think Canada needs less welfare. Why should people who earned their money by working hard pay for the people who are lazy or just don't want to work. We need more free markets in Canada because capitalism is the only way to democracy and prosperity. We should not punish successful people for being rich. How many poor people create jobs? It is the rich people who create jobs and new technologies. So what do you think should we reduce welfare in Canada?
We Need Less Welfare For Canada ! I mean Canada gets a Free Ride for its' national security, down to the Canadian tax payer. Canada, like Europe, has more funds for their social programs while Americans pay for their security. So, YES, We need less welfare For Canada ! And payment from Canada, and Euros too, for the costs of their security. Less Welfare. Moi r > g
The only country that's ever threatened to invade Canada is the US. We have to help them defend themselves from us. The best way is alliance. That said, Canada is now awash in oil and gas money, so it's reasonable for them to pick up a bigger share of their defense costs. But then they sell most of their oil and gas to us, so we pay the bills anyway. Directly, or indirectly through higher energy costs. It's fair to add that Canada sent troops to most US-led military campaigns, and suffered casualties. Canadians have fought beside us in the Gulf War, Afghanistan, and Iraq, and they'll be part of any action against ISIS. The same is true of the Euros. Of course, the US paid a high money price to have them there, but they have honored their treaty obligations.
Stop Welfare For Canada ! Sure. We witness grateful offering special rates to America for the new energy. No ? Oh, than what about their participation in Vietnam? How about some of their excess fresh water they just dump in the oceans diabolical trying to shut down oceanic thermal conveyors being shared with "us" to help produce their food ? It is time to reverse the flow of American wealth to needs to pay more of their defense bill, just like the Euros. Moi r > g View attachment 30179
Other countries are bidding for Canada's oil and gas. If we don't want to buy, China will, and others. Canada has already said as much about that pipeline the libs have turned into a political football. No reason at all to sell to the US at a discount. Remember, these are private transactions between private companies, not the governments of US and Canada. Old commies like you persist in thinking people and businesses are just agents of their governments who must carry out government policy. Not so. No idea what you're talking about re water. Must be a California thing. Please explain it to the rest of us.
There is every reason to give America a discount on energy. Bidding. Shave 25% off the winning American bid. Why? America's pay's Canada's defense bill so they can afford socialized medicine. Call it a "Hat Tax". There is plenty of "fresh water" in Canada. Canadians consume Iowa farm products yet feel no compulsion to courteously send Fresh Water to Iowa in a time of drought destroying food crops. It is time for the "good neighbor policy" to work in both direction. Moi r > g and that "r" is flowing to Ottawa. No Stop Welfare For Canada !
You commies are really dense. The price of Canadian oil and gas is set by the free market in deals between private companies. The governments of the US and Canada have nothing to do with it. You savvy? Military aid is between governments. Oil and gas are between private companies.
"The price of Canadian oil and gas is set by the free market in deals between private companies." , bobov Liar and you know it. Prices are fixed like they use to be for Levis. No one is allowed to sell energy below the fixed price in your competitive capitalism. Moi r > g are you ready for "r" to flow to Ottawa ? No
No. Oil is traded on the commodity markets, which trade 24 hours per day, Monday through Friday. The price of a barrel changes every few seconds on these markets. That's how the price is set. Your notion of fixed prices is both paranoid and ill-informed. Be a leftist if you want, but base your positions on facts, not - dare I say it? - lies. If the price were fixed as you say, we couldn't see charts showing how the price has fluctuated widely over time. There are several independent oil markets, which set their own prices. In the US, the WTI (West Texas Intermediate) is common. Europe may use the Brent price. There are others, all non-correlated. Here's a chart from the Federal Reserve showing the WTI price. (You can choose the time period you want.) Doesn't look fixed to me. http://research.stlouisfed.org/fred2/series/DCOILWTICO You can go to this page to see the current prices of the many oil contracts. Notice that the price differs from month to month. http://www.barchart.com/commodityfutures/Crude_Oil_WTI_Futures/CL I know you resent my bringing facts into politics, but it can't hurt to know what you're talking about. Try it, before you call me a liar. Avoid mutating into "Dave."
You've got that screwed up, who constitue the market that rich sell products to? Yeah that would be the poor and the middle class, the market creates jobs not the wealthy...
all nations need to weigh helping the poor and actually HELPING the poor by helping them get off govt. assistance.
