Hilarious. One cannot make up comedy as good as this: watching the "consensus = 'Science' " dunces stewing in their own juices:

There Are Now 52 Explanations For The Pause In Global Warming

It’s been a busy year for climate scientists, who have been trying to explain why there has been no global warming for nearly two decades.

The Daily Caller News Foundation reported in February there were eight mainstream explanations for the pause, but there are now a whopping 52 explanations for why there has been no warming trend for the last 215 months.

Explanations for the pause in global warming range from ocean oscillation cycles to Chinese coal plant emissions, volcanic activity to some scientists even saying there is no hiatus in warming.

One recent study found that the warming hiatus is due to “heat transported to deeper layers in the Atlantic and the southern oceans, initiated by a recurrent salinity anomaly in the subpolar North Atlantic.”

This oceanic cooling cycle “associated with the latter deeper heat-sequestration mechanism historically lasted 20 to 35 years,” according to Professor Ka-Kit Tung from the University of Washington.

So what’s the latest explanation for why the Earth stopped warming? Europe’s Joint Research Center (JRC) says the hiatus in warming since 2001 is due to “a combination of a natural cooling phase, known as multidecadal variability (MDV), and a downturn of the secular warming trend.”
Earlier this week, scientists warned that Earth’s atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations reached 396 parts per million last year, and carbon dioxide levels were set to cross 400 parts per million by 2015 or 2016.

“We know without any doubt that our climate is changing and our weather is becoming more extreme due to human activities such as the burning of fossil fuels,” said Michel Jarraud, secretary-general of the World Meteorological Organization — a United Nation’s weather and climate science bureaucracy.

“The Greenhouse Gas Bulletin shows that, far from falling, the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere actually increased last year at the fastest rate for nearly 30 years,” Jarraud warned. “We must reverse this trend by cutting emissions of CO2 and other greenhouse gases across the board. We are running out of time.”

But Jarraud’s warning comes after reports that there has been no global warming for the past 215 months, according to satellite data. Furthermore, recent research suggests the “pause” in warming could last another decade.

Some climate scientists who are skeptical of theories that man-made global warming will have catastrophic impacts, say increasing carbon dioxide levels should not be alarming.

Well, it seems pretty clear to me what has happened. The Evil Masters of Big Oil, have succeeded, with the help of their Fossil Fairies, in TAKING THE GAIA HOSTAGE !!!!!!!

Or, perhaps, making predictions and trying to establish ECONOMIC POLICY based on FAILED MODELS, built on ARBITRARY PARAMETERS, and then ALTERING THE EMPIRICAL DATA to "FIT" the MODELS, in a complete refutation of Scientific Method...JUST DOESN'T WORK.

Then there's the planet itself. It doesn't seem to be aware that it's in the throws of 'man produced global warming'.

The trend more or less corresponds with the ban on CFC's and the healing of the ozone hole, but "We already fixed that" doesn't get a lot of grant money I would imagine.

Talk of pause will switch to talk of cooling as la ninas dominate in this cold phase of the PDO.

Earlier in the year the warmmongers were giddy that there was going to be an el nino. That became a el nada. Now its going to get cold. Really really cold.

As I repeatedly try to tell both sides, we don't understand enough about the science.

    Neither do the scientists.

Climate science doesn't exactly attract the best and brightest. Climate scientists tend to be pretty stupid when compared to contemporaries in other fields.

Look at Dr. Mann. Berkley undergrad to Yale, that is a major downgrade for anyone in math and science. Top Berkley undergrads go to Cal Tech, MIT. Yale doesn't have an elite math and science program.

Then its Yale to UMASS for post doc again another downgrade. His entire academic trajectory is one of downgrades. Evidence says he wasn't amongst the best and the brightest. But he found his niche where a not too bright PhD and use bullying and intimidation to work his way to the top in climate science.

My favorite hyperlib rave is the one about carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide makes up less than .04% of the Earth's atmosphere! You can read reams of hysterical ravings about CO2, but when they give the actual concentrations, it equals no more than .04% of the air over this planet. Carbon dioxide is a natural, organic compound, without which life on Earth cannot exist! And, .04% is LESS THAN ONE-TENTH OF ONE PERCENT!

I have often thought that just about every crippling, miserable thing about the United States could be cured if we could somehow have a functioning education system for its children once again. Anybody who runs around in circles in a bug-eyed froth about carbon dioxide levels is in terrific need of much more, and better, education!

There is no such thing as climate science. You don't get degrees in it.

What they are is people from other sciences critiquing the climate and giving their opinion.

And that is just what it is, an opinion....as we can see by the article they have no idea what is going on and any of them who speak with the slightest bit of confidence should immediately be disregarded. We need decades to figure this out and we have not even identified the problem yet let alone the source or the fix.

Follow the money. There is tons of it for governmental and NGO grants to
fall in line behind the officially approved scientific explanation for things.

For people outside the mainstream and proposing alternates to the doom and gloom orthodoxy....not so much.

I was talking about the human species in general. My bad for not clarifying that.

Saw that headline earlier today and was highly amused. They could save them for one a week and CYA for a year. They could make it 53 come the end of October and blame the pause on Halloween. Or April and blame the believers for being fools.

Did I miss another memo?? Was CLIMATE CHANGE a perfectly linear event? No variations? No cool 'spells', no heat 'spells', floods one year, the next year drought, one year no hurricanes, then A-Z hurricanes in then next year, warm temps one winter followed by blinding blizzards the next. HELL, THAT'S PRECISELY what I remember 25 years ago, being told WOULD happen! "Extreme variations" with a steady INCREASE of global temperatures causing all the aforementioned.

    Here is your problem.

Those variations are not any different than the variations that have happened all throughout the history of the Earth.

So your global warming is basically causing things that normally happen anyways. There have always been periods of extreme weather, long before the industrial revolution, droughts, floods, hurricanes, you name it.

    lol

yep. And just like it happened 100 years ago..and a thousand years ago..and a hundred thousand and a million years ago. It's called 'weather'. It's prone to change, in fact change in weather is a characteristic of.. 'you got it'...weather.

One with normal brain capacity would be hard pressed to continue on with
this ludicrous and craven display of near cartoon proportion as to still
insisting on Global Warming. But Insist they must.Like an Elmer Fudd.
That is what this is.A Cartoon agenda with real cartoon characters and
cartoonish facts as if Bugs Bunny Battling Donald Duck.
But even Bugs and Donald have scruples at the end of the day.
Not so with these Global Warmings Freaks.
    They are committed.
Used to be when one was nearing the committed phase they WERE actually
    Committed.To a Looney bin.

All I know is here in Louisville Today,

    It was cold.

I wish it would get warmer, I love warm weather.

that brings up a good point.

I'm wondering why the global warming alarmists don't embrace the fact that there has been no warming and use it to claim that they were right. They would take credit for it if they were smart. Instead they are going in the opposite direction. That's because their movement has a political objective which hasn't been realized.

I think it fairly obvious to point out when Weather STOPS being changing
that we're in a real pickle. But Stop the weather Doesn't nor do those who
Stop at Nothing to convince us of what Mother nature intends.

They do not take proper credit for it, but it all is about the money. The second man to climb a mountain seldom gets the patronage to pay for their expedition the way the first one does. They are just building an impossible mountain to climb so their carbon-backed dollars never run out.

They can't back off and embrace 'no warming' for, well... fraud. Then of course the billions their Precious Prezzy has given to big donors. They know how deniers regard their foolhardy inclinations but embracing 'no warming' would be their denial of the 99% movement.

just because there is more than one mechanism at play does not mean that there is some sort of conspiracy. This still remains the hottest decade on record

There is no doubt the Earth is warming.

The U.S. Military is evacuating several Pacific Island nations right now as temps. increase and Polar and Greenland Ice melts...the oceans rise.

And it is not air temps. that determine global warming or not but OCEAN TEMPS.
