As far as I can tell the US Congress believes China is using Huawei to spy, so why are their products sold at Walmart? https://intelligence.house.gov/site...awei-ZTE Investigative Report%2 0(FINAL).pdf http://www.walmart.com/search/searc...l0=b&wl1=g&wl2=t&wl3=25863554402&wl4=&veh=sem
Well what if somebody's porn interest revealed a hidden sexual interest and that person had access to US government secrets? Common sense would say that Chinese would want to exploit so why let the devices be sold at Walmart?
really thats what you thinking. pretty much all the electronic are made in china, including iphones, your keyboard etc etc. you read too much conspiracy theories
You don't see the difference between a telecommunications company and a simple manufacture company? Really? And I don't read any conspiracy theories. http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/explainer/2010/12/the_spy_who_said_she_loved_me.html What I'm saying is no different than the select committee on Intelligence. https://intelligence.house.gov/site...s/Huawei-ZTE Investigative Report (FINAL).pdf But let me guess--we are all wrong and YOURE the one who is going to set us straight
Huawei products are mostly being used in the developing world rife with terrorist activities and the NSA has reportedly penetrated Huawei networks to spy on terror suspects. The PRC could also make use of Huawei equipment to conduct its infamous hacking operations against Western targets and US government agencies as well as major US companies should avoid using Chinese products to counter the growing cyber threats from Beijing.
OMG!!! I own a Huawei!!! You know what that means? Someone in China is going to get really really bored listening in to MY conversations!
Do you work for a company that sells anything? If so, china may be interested I. Whatever corporate secrets you may know http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-espionage-sentence-dupont-20140710-story.html
If they'll steal corn seeds they'll steal awesome pictures too http://news.sciencemag.org/asiapaci...rs-stole-patented-corn-u-s-prosecutors-allege Who knows? Maybe your pics will be used to market some weird Chinese version of batman...microbatman!
If a Western citizen buys a Huawei products, that citizen deserves to be spied ... Like those EU diplomats who accepted the gift of internet keys from Russian organizers of the last "complete" G20.
A smart strategy of counter information for the Chinese. The common buyer of those devices is statistically not sensitive, so that China is collecting tons of useless information. Seriously: what I was intending is that common persons can buy Chinese smart phones, even with the certainty to be spied. So what? They are not sensitive subjects. But sure a sensitive subject should have the shrewdness to avoid such a purchase. And when I say "sensitive subject" I intend all the subjects with any contact with important public structures and organizations.
the op get too much into this crap, there are so many made in china products out there. if china want to spy on you they can easily get the manufacture to install 3rd party device or other programs into iphone, keyboard etc etc. US didnt buy huiwei because it was for government and major telecon company, for personal use, you router, monitor etc etc are most likely made in china.
I do appreciate common sense in dealing with similar matters. Sure I appreciate it more than useless paranoia. Chinese can "discover" well more about common Western people simply monitoring FaceBook [and without hacking profiles, just taking a look!].
Which was sort of my point - unless they have some awesome software the very number of bloody phones they have sold will "swamp" any signals that they would want to monitor and let us face it anyone who has some sort of secret would be an idiot to openly speak of it on a phone - it is not just the Chinese doing the hacking - ask Rupert Murdoch how that goes
You're all missing the point...by virtue of working for an American company you may have access to what they need to make a cheap knock off. Not every spy objective relies on nuclear secrets.
i'm not missing the point, there are TONS chinese electronic that can be used for spy. even the one made in US has parts made in china. if they worry about these spy etc, they basically need made their own PC, keyboard, iphone, router, etc etc. and china still can hack through there software. like i said use common sense. i'm done if you still worry about huawei or china product then stop buying it. obviously company and consumer think differently than you
You can't even begin to compare what a telecommunications company could have access to versus a company that makes plastic keyboards
