Moscow's decision to pull the plug on the largest Russia-US high school exchange programme comes amid a showdown with the United States over Ukraine which has also seen President Vladimir Putin try to curb the spread of Western values

    http://news.yahoo.com/russia-scraps...-145334948.html;_ylt=AwrBJSCPnSxU3AcA9WTQtDMD

8,000 Russian students have come to the USA to live and learn, and had a great time.

But Russia is cancelling the whole program, due to the excuse of ONE kid having lived with a gay couple.

Wow, this is serious. Nothing is good with this. This is not that kind of value, which Russia needs. Putin is right.

Putin must be afraid that high school kids will be exposed to the truth about his nation's criminal and disgusting actions in Ukraine.

plus the stupid fact that this decision is also based on irrational homophobia.

    fear...fear fear....is all Putin has.

The USSR/Russia is notorious for trying their best to keep their people of of The West, cause once they see the freedom and openness of The West, they don't want to go home.

just like how Soviets and Communist block people were desperate LEAVE their countries for The West, not the other way around.

3x as many Russians have left their country, as compared to 2 years ago.

something very bad is happening there

For the record as the OP did not mention it...the program was US-funded....Yes, the US paid for the Russian youths to study in [very expensive] US universities but fuhrer Putler most likely figured out that they (the students) must be committing some kind of thought-crimes against the motherland and pulled the plug. What a genious and a visionary this Putler is, no one can fool him. LOL

Russia doesn't need its young folks to learn our Sodom and Gommorrah ways.
On top of that we subvert the more intelligent ones to become turncoats once they find a good place in the Russian system.
We are a beastly nation that kills the innocent. And those who kill the innocent are willing to kill all of humanity.
They should have stopped it sooner.

This is all your efforts to promote homosexuality by all means possible. Even here, in America, many communities reject homosexuality as a perversion and deviation from doctrines of all major religions.

This is good, because Russia does not need such "values" like homosexuality. Education in Russian colleges is among the best in the world. Besides, Russia has other exchange programs with European nations.

Assuming that this is true, I wasn't talking about pre-natal abortion, but post natal abortion that the USA loves to carry out in many nations.

    Our policy towards civilians is:
"extermination, not of soldiers alone, that is the least of the trouble, but the people" .... "We are not fighting against enemy armies, but against an enemy people, both young and old, rich and poor, and they must feel the iron hand of war in the same way as organized armies." США - USA General Sherman

Americans are not educated. They are trained, conditioned and programmed.
Our freedom is the freedom of cops to beat and kill us, freedom to be taxed and regulated out of livelyhood and home.
We have no freedom, as we live in a Communist dictatorship that works hard to make folks think they are free when they are not.
We have the highest percentage of people in prison. etc.
We spend our nation's wealth on war and subsidizing Greater Ashkenazistan.
When we find a country that treats it's people well, we destroy it, if it's weak enough.
    A good example is Libya;
They got 1000$ per month plus medical care plus low interest loans etc. So of course we know it all geniuses of suffering, death and destruction couldn't wait to wreck things for the people of Libya.

There isn't a single Russian university or colleges among the top 100-200 world universities... Russian higher education is horrible.... Homosexuality is actually far more acceptable in liberal Europe than the US, Putin is a gay...and frankly a number of Russian kids who could get good education in the US will grow up brainwashed ignorant idiots (and will probably post utter nonsense on this forum, just like you do), I am genuinely sorry for them.

Considering where things seem to be headed between Russia and he U.S., it might be for the best.

i wonder what Putin will tell his little children, why they can't go to the USA?

"there are Gays, blacks, and Jews in the USA. And they have freedom. We don't want you exposed to this"

I frankly fail to see how any kind of student exchange among even the worst enemies in any kind of circumstances can be a bad thing

Naw, this is really unfortunate. I don't want to see this huge, retarded wall erected between Russia and America over this crap. That harms us all, not just our (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*) politcal leaders and their financial backers.

honestly, i feel very bad for Russia.

this is a very bad turn of events, as we as nations should experience each other and learn from each other.

we might not have much to learn from Russia, but they do have a lot of art.

Russians can learn about freedom, democracy, and diversity of views from us.

Lenin, Stalin, Brezhnev, Krushchev...they all came up with explanations why Russian citizens should be held behind the Iron curtain, not exposed to the western influence....Putin does not need to come up with his own script, he will just regurgitate what his predecessors like Stalin and Brezhnev said.
