Seriously, we sit around here and whine about what's going on.

Time to put your money where your mouth is right?

Of course, Republicans seldom do that.. they figure they can count on Adelson, Karl, the Kochs and their indentured bazillionaire servants to fund their horses, but as Obama proved in '08 & '12 .. individual donors (millions of them) rule!

IF you sit back and merely opine or express confidence, you (we) lose, and losing means two more years of gridlock, umpteen House AND Senate faux "investigations" (including impeachment proceedings) & a larger-than-it-actually-is platform for idiot clowns like Ted Cruz to continue yammering about ISIS crossing our southern border, bringing Ebola with them and killing EVERYONE!!

So please join me in supporting THESE tossup races:

    Alison in KY

Braley (not Bailey ;~) in Iowa

Shaheen vs carpetbagger Snotty Brown (GAWD how i dislike that moron!) in NH

    Michelle Nunn in GA:

Thanks, and God Bless those who FUND their convictions!

And yet the very forum you use to parrot your left-wing propaganda is at 7% of its monthly fundraising goal on the 23rd of the month. I just donated, how about you?

How about more than two choices? I don't want either major party, but as ever no other candidate or party has a chance, and only because people perceive them as not having a chance, hence no matter how much they might agree with them they will not support or vote for them. Democracy is a sham.

    Fair point, and nope .. i won't vote for Gary Johnson in a losing effort even though i like him;

The MINUTE you present me with a semi-electable alternative to our two party system i'll be there right with YOU.

Liz Warren as an indy in 2016? Count me IN!!

Warren would have no chance as an independent, either. No one does. The game is rigged. Best you can do is vote for her in a Dem primary.

Are you talking about for pres, or Senate? She could win the Senate, sure. But no independent will ever win the White House. If you disagree, name the last time an independent has won.

Plenty of individuals make campaign contributions. I've been contributing to the McConnell campaign at regular intervals for quite some time. Just my personal choice, but I don't contribute to Senate or House campaigns that aren't for who is going to represent me. I figure the voters who live THERE can decide and cough up to support the person they want to represent them. Just my own little protest -- I can't do anything about the big national donors, but I don't have to participate in trying to sway the choices of the voters who live in any district except my own. And by the way, it's only in liberal fantasy land that KY is a "toss-up". Even HuffPo (looking at 52 polls from 26 pollsters) gives McConnell a 67% chance of winning, with him at 49.2% and her at 44.7%....but hey, keep dreamin'. Hope springs eternal and all that.

Yep, that is what is called liberal tolerance, making fun of people's looks. Sad and infantile.

Our election laws are written by Republicans and Democrats as a mutual protection act. They are written to keep any third party from becoming viable. Then there is the financing of campaigns, All the corporations, Wall Streets Firms, special interests, lobbyists, huge mega money donors give their money to the two major parties. Not a cent to third parties. This is why Obama had a billion dollars to spent, why Romney had a billion dollars to spend, both of them spent every last dime. Gary Johnson spent 3 million, of course he didn't have the money coming in from Wall Street, corporations, special interests, lobbyists etc. It is hard to run a viable campaign when you are outspent 2 billion to 3 million.

Let's face it, the Republicans and Democrats have a monopoly on our election system. They also owe their hearts and souls to the moneyed folks I mentioned above. They have been bought and paid for. I know their rhetoric doesn't sound like it, but their actions do. What is worse a lot of corporations and Wall Street Firms, the lobbyist and special interest, they donate to both parties. That way whoever wins will end up owing them.

Now all these mega millionaires, billionaires etc. are not donating out of their civic duty. These are smart business men who make sure their investments in donating to the two major parties are worth the return they get on their investments. If they didn't get that return, guess what? They wouldn't be giving the two major parties all that money, their tens of millions of dollars so each party can run billion dollar campaigns.

We have the best government money can buy.

Talking president. and yes.. if someone super-charismatic emerged as an indy they COULD win against a couple of boring milk toast choices.

I can't disagree with that but at same time, the 2024 POTUS election will be RIPE for a charismatic third party candidate.

It is so much harder to even get on the ballot as an independent. If she's so popular, she should run as a Democrat (the party that she actually is). If she can't win the Democratic primary, there's no way she can win the general election.
