that Rick would kill him with the red handled machete. Did it, too. Love that show. too bad that they can just leave the stupid zombie thing completely out of it. Big waste of money on the makeup and special effects. It's the live people that are 1000x as dangerous as any zombie, regardless of numbers.
You need the constant looming threat that the zombies provide to keep everyone tense all the time. You can never just relax somewhere unless you are protected and guarded. If it was just the humans left they could stop this nonsense and start rebuilding civilization.
dream on, dude. Once ANYTHING destroys civilization, roaming bands of looter types will be the constant, long term threat. 99% of people have no clue how to rebuild ANYTHING. All it would take to beat all the zombies would be to move to a small island, or even a house boat. let them rot. and all it would take to get there is hit the nearest army post for a Humvee, a tow trailer of fuel and another Humvee full of M4' rifles, M9 pistols, ammo, and water. You'd be at the coast, great lakes, or a big river in a day, so you wouldn't need much food at all. But that won't provide for lots of story lines and weekly sales of advertisement, you see. very little of our seed is non-hybrid, did you know that? If shtf, the animals will all be killed and eaten, by people or starving packs of dogs. How to rebuild by HAND, dude? Few will know how (or bother). they'll just become looters, that's all. they don't even know that a library is the most precious place in any town.
which is the entire point of the story, humans are the real danger...zombies are just a metaphor for any apocalyptic cause, climate change, nuclear war, pandemic, meteor strike, economic collapse...
I haven't been this far in the TV show, but in the comic books Rick literally states that while the zombies have become a negotiable threat by that point, the real danger are the living humans. But zombies are the selling point of the show. Zombies have been all the rage in the last couple of years. Without them a whole lot less people would have started watching in the first place.
It would be a different type of show if it was some sort of other apocalypse. The type of end-of-civilization sets the nature of the TV show. In this case there are zombies, but there have been other apocalypse shows, like Revolution, that had totally differing scenarios.
yep. I think that hyperinflation or civil war over a gun confiscation are the 2 most likely themes. The babyboomers ARE going to collapse SS, they've known that for 40 years now. and to NOT "racially profile" Arabs, at LEAST at the airports, is absolute insanity. if they don't effing LIKE it, they can get the hell out. Let THEM go to the troubled countries, KILL the sob's making all the trouble, and we won't HAVE to profile them anymore.
