    The 6.5mm Mannlicher-Carcano weighs 10.5 g and can travel 2,000+ ft/s (1,300+ MPH).

The average adult male's head weighs a little over 8lbs. The skull is roughly 0.25 inches thick and is covered by a scalp of soft skin that is probably around 8mm or so thick.

    If this bullet:

hit a man in a seated-position in the back of the head, what's the next motion that we would see -- his head being driven forward because of the force of the unprotected blow or him falling backwards and slouching to the left resisting the momentum of the force applied upon his head?

Why not in the gun section where the experts are -- such as yourself. You're a gun guy. So what'd happen when a 6.5mm hits a human head?

Depends on angle, velocity, deflection, distance from the shooter, head wear, type of bullet bring fired, powder type, and density of the air. Be specific.

Elevated position firing at a moving seated target at perhaps a 10-15 degree horizontal trajectory
    Bullet's velocity is 2,000+ ft/s
    Target is 265 feet away
Target is made of human bone (the skull) that is about 0.25 inches thick and a scalp made of soft skin that is probably less than 8mm thick.
6.5mm Mannlicher-Carcano was the bullet fired, see picture in OP.
    10.5 g is the weight of the 6.5mm Mannlicher-Carcano.

I dunno about the air density.

    Mid November in Dallas?

At only 265 feet, air density doesn't matter as much.

They have all sorts of "experts" in the conspiracy section. Really you should try asking there.

Initially the force would cause a short push on the skull but the explosive force of the bullet and brain and head matter exiting the front of the skull would propel the head backwards slightly while the sudden and violent attack on the electro-chemical body that is the brain would send a severe nerve impulse down the body forcing it to react. One of those reactions could be the tightening of muscles leading to it being forced backwards in the seat.

    Good enough?

Targets get block backwards and away from the shooter.

    Simple as that.

I don't know about the ballistics part, but the movement of Kennedy's head is the reason I STILL think that shot came from the front. I don't think the 'experts' have ever played pool.

    1. Formally stated, Newton's third law is: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. The statement means that in every interaction, there is a pair of forces acting on the two interacting objects. The size of the forces on the first object equals the size of the force on the second object.

Being shot is not like in the movies where the Sheriff walks in the saloon doors and shoots the villain who flies backwards 15 feet and lands on the poker table.

No, but then I've never shot anything that jumped straight at me, either.

I shot a soup can at 520yds. yesterday, the can was pushed backwards. Not forward like JFK's head.

JFK was shot from the front.

I'm a little confused by your statement here. As you stated the soup can flew backwards ,as it should have . Momentum and energy from the bullet caused the can to move backwards. The can was shot from the front, right? Then you state that JFK's head moved forward. So if that was true,it would mean that he was shot from behind,in order to move his head forward. How can JFK's head move forward ,if he was shot from the front?

I'm sorry, I am hung over as (*)(*)(*)(*).

You see JFK's head move backwards in the video. If he was shot from behind, his head would have flown forward. However, it moved backwards, indicating a shot from the front.

It looked to me like Kennedy's head was jerked backward, then slumped forward. A large part of the skull ended up on the trunk of the car. To me, that would be consistent with being shot from the front, as you say.

Yep, pretty much. I haven't ever seen a target explode towards the shooter.

I don't do much shooting anymore except with a bow. They say with an 85# bow, the impact is about the same as a .45. I've never seen anything (pig or deer) move in any direction other than backward.

The original "conspiracy freaks" were the people who questioned the official story about how Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone gunman...... oh well,
