bad news on the blue front, looks like the fauxchahontas faction is trying to upset the clinton apple cart. Get the popcorn and beverage of choice , this should be fun to watch http://www.cnn.com/2014/12/09/politics/move-on-org/index.html Washington (CNN) -- Sen. Elizabeth Warren may repeatedly say she isn't running for president in 2016, but don't tell that to the nation's largest liberal grassroots organization. MoveOn.org, an 8-million member liberal grassroots organization, is poised to kick off a $1 million campaign to draft Warren for president in 2016. The plan will be put to MoveOn members Tuesday morning, but because of the Massachusetts senator's popularity with the liberals, the plan is expected to easily pass. The campaign includes MoveOn.org opening offices and hiring staff in Iowa and New Hampshire, two states that are critically important in the presidential nomination process, and "the assembly of a national volunteer army ready to go to work if Sen. Warren enters the race." If passed, MoveOn will also begin producing "ads and media products that call attention to how Sen. Warren has stood up and fought for the middle class and her powerful vision for our country's future." "There is too much at stake to have anything other than our best candidates in the debate," Ilya Sheyman, executive director of MoveOn.org Political Action, said in a statement. "We are prepared to show Senator Warren she has the support she needs to enterand winthe presidential race."
Gee, an old woman or an Indian princess. Dems don't bring much to the table, do they? Too bad they don't have any qualified white guys. Wonder how many years it'll take them to rotate back to white men? After all society's 'victims' have had a turn in the oval office?
Wait, why would the largest liberal organization in the country do this? I thought liberals were totally confident in Hillary Clinton for 2016?
While I indeed hope Warren would be something of a left-libertarian, I cannot escape the feeling she would be Woodrow Wilson Mk2, and hence disastrous. It kinda sucks, because you want the left to reform to become less pro-establishment, but unfortunately that will almost certainly make them more sure of the need for crushing Federal power in most issues, and that's precisely the direction things should not go. Decentralized government should be our goal, everything else is irrelevant. Does Warren move the left toward that goal? No.
Because nothing says 'regular folks' like a $1,000,000 campaign to get you to run for President! (other than charging $300,000 for speeches...)
As a Republican, who would you rather run against? A drunk who bumps her head answering the 3 am phone call, making her have to wear funny glasses, OR the Oklahoma-crab-serving phony Indian? Hmmm... Tough call...
MoveOn.org should dry to draft the Indian but have we heard from the CPA, yet. You know, the first time I saw her picture I said, "My god, an Indian."
One must wonder if the wacko birds' latest slimefest misdirected at a Senator with very little likelihood of winning the '16 Democratic presidential nomination is evidence of Hillary Clinton's strategists manipulating them via their strident media entertainers. No, the fringe "Move On" worthies were never permitted to infest and befoul the Democratic Party as TPs did the GOP. (You never heard Harry Reid need to boast, "I think we're going to crush them everywhere!") Yes, the desperate Benghazi gambit is the latest to have fizzled, leaving the multiply-indicted, impotent Issa appearing as if he had just been favoured at close quarters by the nether-fanfare of a triumphant pachyderm in a cabbage-eating contest single-handedly passing enough gas to induce immense and immediate climate change. Rather than incessantly sniveling about improbable Democratic nominees, they may want to consider searching for a viable one of their own, arduous as that task might be. Of course, if they are resigned to the default position of sticking with their Landslide Willard!, I say,"Go for it!"
That old hag Hillary isn't running. If she was even remotely considering it, this will be the final insult to convince her to just sit down and shut up. The faux Indian has a better chance. She's not a known name outside political circles and Ds love them someone they've never heard of before. She fills the D bill.
Move On wants to nominate a woman. The organization that got it's name from the desire to "move on" during impeachment hearings and in defense of serial woman abuser Bill Clinton. Ironic.
Notice a curious contradiction from the Right? They claim that if Hillary is the Dem Nominee in 2016....practically any Republican could beat her. Yet....they desperately grab at ANY hope that somebody other than Hillary will be the Dem Nominee in 2016?!?!?!?
"desperately grab" ? Is that what you call simply discussing an article? You try so hard gorn ... the fail must get old
That attempt at ridicule failed miserably since she likely shares American Indian ancestry with many born in Oklahoma, and while neither she nor her brothers ever demanded documentation from their mother or grandmother after they and other relatives had talked about a family Cherokee and Delaware heritage, her ancestry never played a part in any discernible way. Their is no shortage of Americans with Native ancestry and no governmental records for it. Colleagues and supervisors at the schools where she had worked, without a single exception even amongst Republicans, publicly supported her statement that she did not receive any preferential treatment. In any event, the wacko birds would do better to keep sniveling about Hillary, because Warren in not a likely presidential candidate. Mrs C once dropped a 40 kilo block of lime Jello® off of a four storey building onto Vince Foster's head, don't you know.
Got it... "likelihood" cancels out a total lack of validity. Good call claiming that Cherokee heritage to gain a Harvard professorship, eh. Lying is A-OK when it's from the left. Seems she's running for the correct party. Not as if character has ever mattered.
>>>MOD EDIT: INSULT<<< about Senator Warren for some inexplicable reason, no, her family's ancestral tradition that is entirely plausible is not rendered invalid by the government's failing to document it - as was often the case. You may believe that the State is always infallible, but reality clearly gainsays your naïve faith in bureaucracy. More than an unbelievable amount of "luck" would be demanded, of course. Should we pretend that it having never happened must be attributable to Harvard's and other schools' failures to ever document such a thing, as well as a vast conspiracy by school faculties and administrators to lie about it? Charles Fried is a Harvard Law School professor with impressive conservative credentials, having held the post of US Solicitor General for Ronald Reagan. He said that Elizabeth Warren got her job on her merits as a legal scholar, and insisted that it is "complete nonsense" that her Native American heritage played a role. He wrote that Warren was recruited to Harvard for a tenured position in the law school because of her expertise in bankruptcy and commercial law. Freed is a prominent right winger, but one with integrity and scruples despite franetic, uber-partisans casting him as a boldface liar in the matter. Really? Who is "the left" that you license to lie? Certainly not to you, >>>MOD EDIT: INSULLT<<< Your having given up on sliming Hillary Clinton may be seen as a sign of recovery, but I expect a relapse.
We know she can lie and that's the #1 qualification for a Dem president. Wouldn't rule out Princess Sitting Bull yet.
