Doctors and medical facilities have been gouging patients for a long time now, and now they have to face the market is changing. I for one would point out the AMA also with the government limited entry of more doctors and have done little to limit access to specialties over primary care. Doctors don't seem to have lost their one advantage ,job security, once your one none have been left without a good career. Face it your average MD is a specialist, a nurse practitioner or its equivalent can handle most day to day issues its not any more complicated now than being an auto mechanic test and use symptoms to figure out what is wrong then follow regular courses of care. Doctors are needed only for oversight, handling complex care issues as part of a care team ideally and handle specialty care of a more complex nature. There is no need for so many doctors once we get more para-professionals that can do the bead and butter care and who cost far less to train and are cheaper to employ.
