Given your on-line name, would it be a correct assumption that at some point in your Air Force career you were based in Germany?
lol No, I wish I was, but was only stationed stateside. My name has nothing to do with beer preference. I used to be a Ron Paul fan. I would like to change my name, but I guess we have to pay to do it.

That was before my time, but I have seen many of the relics. At White Sands the PATRIOT testing area was right around the corner from the NIKE testing area. And I did not even know that within 3 miles of where I grew up was a live NIKE firing battery, right inside Los Angeles. And of course I finally got a chance a few months ago to visit SF-88, the NIKE site in San Francisco that is now a museum. Very impressive.
The Los Angeles area was probably the heaviest defended area back during the era of the Nike during the Cold War. http://www.ftmac.org/lanike3.htm

No kidding. I had no idea until much later when I looked into where these sites actually were. https://www.google.com/maps/@34.1849953,-118.4825691,148m/data=!3m1!1e3 I literally used to ride my bike in that area when I was a kid in the late 1960's. And I am sure Longknife would recognize it for what it is. A few months ago I used a web site and located dozens of these sites on Google Maps all over the US. And until last year I lived about a half mile from where one stood outside of Travis AFB.
