I have two sets of investments, my 401k and personal investments. My 401K grew about 14%. My personal invesments grew about 12%, but those only started on August 20th. So 2014 was a good year.
I just have the 401K and it increased by a little over 16% but only about 5% of that was market increase, the rest were employee and employer contributions. I do have more bond investments due to getting close to retirement.
Biotech soared, Health Care mostly soared, Gold Miners dropped (time to buy). General funds did nicely. The Shiller PE and CAPE are very high now so slowly going to cash, coins, diamonds, and recently bought a small orchard (a family member will run it; he wants to come out of retirement, owned an orchard for 30 years).
Stock did well I'm up 58% since when I bought in during 2013. Commodities performed pretty averagely, but gold has been up recently.
