The social engineering continues in Obama's military.

It's now out of the military hands if a transgender soldier will be booted out for the good of the military. From now on it will be an Obama appointed civilian in the DoD who will make a decision.

No more hearing in the shower, "They're man boobs" or "It's the cold water, it shrinks when it's cold."

Some branches of the service have two standards for the PFT, one for males and another for females. Which standard are transgenders held too ? While some PT standards have been dumbed down to the female standard for both sexes. That seems to be the direction the Obama administration is going.

Army easing policy on transgender soldiers

LGBT activist says, Barack is the man.

    >" WASHINGTON — The decision to discharge transgender soldiers from the Army would be made by a top, senior civilian official under a plan outlined in a draft document obtained by USA TODAY.

The move would make it more difficult to remove such troops from the service.

Instead of being made by lower-level Army officers, the memorandum says, the decision to discharge transgender soldiers would be made by the assistant secretary of the Army for personnel. In all services, transgender troops can be automatically dismissed from service on medical grounds once they are identified.

"Assigning responsibility for discharge decisions to a senior official would be a welcome step toward inclusive policy, but transgender troops will still have to serve in silence until more is done to dismantle the ban," said Aaron Belkin, director of the Palm Center, which has published research on sexual orientation issues in the military.

The Army had no comment about the memo, known as an All Army Activities directive, or the level at which decisions on dismissing transgender soldiers had been made, said Wayne Hall, an Army spokesman. Senior Defense department officials confirmed that the Army is considering the change. The new directive would expire after 12 months, or sooner, if a broader reinterpretation of the Army's rules about transgender soldiers is issued..."<

I see this as largely pointless anyways.

Individuals who have "gender reassignment surgery" are ineligible to join in the first place for medical reasons. The same way as anybody who has major reconstructive surgery (especially on their genitals). If somebody has extensive damage to their genitals because of say an accident and has them reconstructed they are ineligible to join also, so this has not a damned thing to do with "transgender".

And those who go through this surgery also need to take hormone treatments, once again something not practical for those in the military.

Personally, I really do not give a frack. If somebody who is a man but thinks they are really a woman wants to join the military, knock themselves out. But as long as they serve, they are men and are to be treated as such. Once they finish serving their time, they are free to do whatever the hell they want.

The military also bars those from serving who have split tongues, horns embedded in their forehead, ears stretched out from plugs, and other such "bodily mutilation". Do we start making exceptions for them also? What if somebody gets a medical diagnosis that states they are a furry, and can only "be themselves" while showing their real inner self by dressing in fur. SO we then make exceptions to them as well?

Sorry, I see this as really stupid.

Whatever your sex is at birth is how the military should treat you.

    Period.

Rep. Black Blasts Vanderbilt for Covering ‘Medically Unnecessary’ Sex-Reassignment Surgeries
June 20, 2016 -- Rep. Diane Black (R-TN) blasted Vanderbilt University’s student insurance policy, which previously covered hormone therapy for transgender students but will now also cover what she called “medically unnecessary” sex-reassignment surgeries.

My son is in AIT right now and they are apparently discharging people right and left, with failure to adapt discharges. However none of them are transgender. I imagine a unit would be afraid to try to discharge someone claiming to be transgender. Sort of a get out of jail free card.
