One striking correlation is that, of the ten states with the highest White evangelical percentages, seven also made Fox's list of the ten worst educated. (Fox's ten best educated list includes six of the ten with the lowest percentage of evangelicals.) Of course, such commonalities are merely coincidental, but a good education is a valuable asset for an individual, his state, and for the nation, nonetheless.

Utah holds a unique position in having the lowest level of evangelicals, but the highest percentage of Republican voters in the 2012 presidential election.

The progressive trend of younger Americans generally is in stark contrast to the attitudes of young White evangelicals. As an example,

As the GOP's attempts to broaden its appeal to Hispanic, Black, and other non-White Americans, it'll be fun to watch their attempts to attract younger voters whilst retaining those that are White evangelicals.

It'll be quite a challenge, and Mitch McConnell lip-sinking Lady Gaga tunes in the senate chambre just isn't going to pull it off but I say, "Hey, go for it, Dude!"

Unless America returns to the behavior of marriage and family building the end is clear, especially when Islam, Russia, China, and N Korea patriarchies are sharpening their swords,... as the crime filled inner cities fill of fatherless Welfare people are raising up against police and presenting a growing sign of revolt with ever incident of crime fighting.

    CHILDREN NEED BOTH PARENTS

63% of youth suicides are from fatherless homes. (Source: U.S. D.H.H.S., Bureau of the Census).
90% of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes.
85% of all children that exhibit behavioral disorders come from fatherless homes. (Source:\hich\af39\dbch\af31505\loch\f39 Center for Disease Control).
80% of rapist motivated by displaced anger come from fatherless homes. (Source: Criminal Justice and Behavior, Vol. 14, pp. 403-26).
71% of all high school dropouts come from fatherless homes. (Source: National Principals A Report on the State of High Schools).
85% of all youths sitting in prisons grew up in a fatherless home. (Source: Fulton County Georgia jail populations, Texas Dept. Of Corrections, 1992).

These statistics translate to mean that children from fatherless homes are:

20 times more likely to have behavioral disorders
14 times more likely to commit rape

20 times more likely to end up in prison

Children from "fatherless families of single mother" homes are*:

4.6 times more likely to commit suicide
6.6 times more likely to become teenaged mothers

And how much of this comes about because (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)s are persecuting children because they come from single parent homes? Do you have some sort of campaign on to force women with children to remarry if their husbands die? Everybody knows that stepchildren are all loved unconditionally and abusive stepparents are certainly not an almost proverbial problem among social care workers

A more relevant ranking is by percentages of minority populations when it comes to ranking by education levels, not that merely possessing a bachelor's degree means such people are actually educated any more, given the massive grade inflation since the 1960's, but ...

    http://www.indexmundi.com/facts/uni.../all-states/white-population-percentage#chart

So, trying to corelate some racist 'percentage of white evangelicals' to education levels is pretty much a fail, no doubt due to having a poor education and not really able to understand what they're reading. Also, some of the 'top states' are also the states that attract immigration of degreed professionals from out of state; in fact New York lags behind the national average in high school degrees, for instance. Wonder how many Democrats will honestly indentify themselves as racists? Of course, nearly 100% of the Party qualifies, but it might be interesting to see how many admit it, or are even aware they are. Wonder why there isn't a list of black evangelicals and latino evangelicals for comparison? I think we can guess why, eh?

It must really sick to see that the Big Plan to foment violence and racism among minorities and getting them to the polls to vote based on racial hatred is an obvious failure, as tha tis the only gimmick the Democratic Party has left; they have no platform, no appeal even for latino voters, their big Hope For The Future; they tend to frown on infanticide and other fun things Democrats are selling.

Maybe you can explain why Christians get divorced in such high numbers and how to cure it, force them to stay married?

Well my advice is to quit trying to keep couples together and take the more practical approach of endorsing abortion among these "crime filled inner cities fill of fatherless Welfare people".

I'll bet you'll have more success at trying to resolve what ever it is your on about!

So now encouraging infanticide among minorities is the 'progressive's 'practical solution' to decreasing welfare? Won't that make those evil white evangelicals' votes even more important?

Any numbers showing it's Christians who have such high numbers of divorce?

Isn't it interesting how you suddenly find Fox to be a credible source when it reports something you like.

Google it and you will see many Christians discuss the topic. Let me put it you this way, we are supposedly a Christian Nation and as such we are mostly Christians and polls verify that time and time again. The US has one of the highest rates of divorce in the world, guess who that is getting divorced, yes there is your answer. Yes, some my claim that many of them are not good practicing Christians and to some degree they may be correct, but from my experience I see the churches full on Church days here so there must be a lot of us. I do not disagree that having faith can help a couple through the tough times every couple faces but faith is not always enough to ensure that people will be happy with their spouse. The main factors for the high rate are two: getting married far too young and living in a society that believes if something is not working exactly how they want then throw it away and get a newer model, I do not see either changing any time soon.

I don't agree entirely, as I think financial stress plays a bigger role than most want to admit to, but thanks for a non-snarky answer.

Here is another spin on the numbers that might be of interest; I haven't tried to verify them on my own yet.

    http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news/religion/2011-03-14-divorce-christians_N.htm

This link handles the data a little differently, but uses data from 2001, which is sort of close to the more current dats in the first link, for a comparison over a decade or so.

This is why we need same-sex marriage, so that there are two parents in the home. :D

As a white, atheist conservative, I can tell you that the religious right - while very vocal - doesn't make up the bulk of the GOP.

That said - public schools are failing - and they're failing after being kidnapped by the very liberal NEA (teachers union). There is a reason private schools - and even homeschools with parents who are not trained educators - are churning out more highly educated students.

It's not a question of "liking" statistics (although you snippiness may be attributable to disliking them in this case) but here Fox is merely repeating 24/7 Wall Street's citing Census Bureau data.

Accepting reality, whether it's the correlation between a state's political orientation and level of education, or specific data - such as Massachusetts being at one end of the spectrum with only 4% uninsured and Texas at the opposite with 20% of its people having no health insurance coverage - is simply the way it is, whether some, understandably, do not like to face it or not.

I must admit to the demonstrated success of Romney (R)'s "individual mandate" mechanism, even though I still believe that eliminating the enormous $250 billion annual taxpayer subsidy to sustain employer-administered plans is the superior approach that would lead to universal coverage at lower cost whilst relieving America's private sector of the bureaucratic burden imposed upon it by the current scheme.

Please note that I am citing reliable, objective sources, whether it is Fox that repeats them or anyone else. That is far more valid than your falsely attributing words to Winston Churchill merely because they reflect your personal ideological bent and you think putting words in his mouth somehow lends your notions a modicum of legitimacy.

Do you accept that White evangelicals constitute a much larger "bulk" of the Republican base than that do White atheists?

Only 3% of America's children are home-schooled and that is limited to households where a qualified parent has the time available to devout to it. Public schools and public school teachers do not have the luxury of being so highly selective as are private schools. Homeschooling can be the superior approach under ideal circumstances, but those are, necessarily, very limited.

Of the preponderance of those who earn a high school diploma in the US, measurable achievement in the form of their SAT scores varies considerably by state - as you can easily compare here

Yes, divorce is even worse than the Single Mother Welfare Program which pays girls not to get married.
Single mothers are only second to divorced women raising children without a father in the house, or worse, with a step father there which is worse.

70% of same sex marriages divorce before 7 years.
They therefore are among the group of fatherless kids or step mother/father relationship.

Probably, but by the same token, white, Hispanic, Asian, whatever moderates constitute a much larger "bulk" of the Republican base than do white evangelicals. The squeaky wheel always gets the notice, but that doesn't mean it's representative of the entire group.

"Qualified" in most states means "a legal guardian" who has the time to devote to teaching. That's it. Most states require testing of homeschool students - most require record keeping in order to graduate. Universities that once shunned homeschool kids now court them. Offer them scholarships (yes, homeschool kids play sports, often with local school teams) and their typically score very well on college admission tests. Not all - most.

But, a parent has only to be a parent to be a homeschooler, which goes to show that a teaching certification isn't all its cracked up to be.

One of the biggest problems in the public school setting is the high dropout rate in urban schools. Look at DC's rate. Look at LA. These kids are slipping through the cracks and they're doing it while the NEA has a stranglehold on public education.

Don't kid yourself. Public schools are in trouble and until the dump the NEA - that trend will continue.

Step fathers score the worst for abused kids.

This is not to say that most step fathers are terrible, or that the high rates of child abuse ignore that many step fathers do a good job, either.
What we are saying is the marriage of the actual parents produces the lowest number of abuse cases by far, and high violent crime rates are low compared to fatherless kids at 70% of the violent crime levels:

Catholics do not generally divorce because their church bans that.
But divorce has become No Fault and many women see better opportunities now that society has become so secular and men will marry divorced women so readily.

The low rates for Atheists ignores te trend for living together which is very high today.
But the lower rate of divorce under 30% for religious people compares better with the general rate of 50% divorce now.

    Oh yeah.
Abortion is absolutely necessary at 1/3rd of all pregnancies right now in order to lower the Welfare tax costs and keep the level of single mothers to half of what it would be otherwise.

The crime rate has been cut since 1973 when abortion became legal.
70% if ll violent crime is by people raised by single mothers.
That number would be twice the crime rate were it not that half the illegitimate babies are killed.

    ?
Abortion went to a consistent 1.2 million since Roe VS Wade in 1972.

That killed half of all the illegitimate babies being born right there.
Since the economic troubles, Welfare has boomed as less abortions now take place than before 2008.

Average Welfare recipient gets $40,000+ per year
September 18, 2013 by Harold Bray

Earlier this year Pennsylvania state officials traveled to the libertarian think tank, the Cato Institute, in search of a solution to a dilemma that most states have.
The dilemma, they said, was they could not find a way to transition welfare recipients to work.
The average welfare recipient gets (ooops, I almost wrote “earned”) $45,000 per year in benefits, they said, and has low work skills and little job history.

Behavior is the main reason for student failures and poor learning.
Teachers have been forced to tolerate behavior that they once meet and changed as their institution socialized the kids.

But the kids who have no fathers and go to free public schools can say whatever they want and set standards that the other kids follow as authority is confronted without any correction.

    ...cost of Health Care...

Cost of these new ideas which force people to sign up for services that other people pay for.
That is the problem these programs do not address.

    Note:

"Health care costs are projected to increase by about 7 percent this year, making it likely that employers will try to control expenses by changing benefits, increasing deductibles, and otherwise shifting more costs to their workers, the state’s health insurance companies said Thursday.

The increase, about double the target for growth in medical spending under the state’s universal health care law, is driven in part by expensive hospital visits, complex procedures, and the astronomical cost of specialty drugs, including one for hepatitis C, the insurers told a group of employee benefits specialists.

“It’s a budget-buster,” said Dolores Hamilton, a human resources director for the Town of Framingham, of health insurance costs.

Executives from insurers such as Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, and Tufts Health Plan presented their outlooks to the annual conference of the New England Employee Benefits Council.

They told about 100 benefits specialists that medical cost increases are more moderate in Massachusetts than in other states, but still well above the state’s goal of holding the growth in health care spending to 3.6 percent, a benchmark established in 2012."
