He was born OUTSIDE the jurisdiction of the United States. An Article 2 Section 1 natural born citizen is not eligible to be prime minister of Canada or head of Cuba. A natural born citizen is someone who is born of parents who have zero foreign allegiances to any foreign sovereignty. Glad Cruz has finally admitted this. It was foolish to say he was a Article 2 Section 1 natural born citizen. He's a statutory citizen.

Finally, a politician that shows a little character and put his country and his citizens first rather than his political career.

They are trying to destroy a decent man even before he is running for President.

It's unfortunate that so much ambiguity still exists over the meaning of Natural Born. People are clearly arguing on both sides based on their preferences, and not the law. For me, based on everything I've read, the Founders' intent was to avoid electing a president with any foreign allegiance. A person whose father is a citizen of another country, and who was born outside the U.S. is exactly what the Framers had in mind to avoid when they included the term Natural Born. The earliest and strictest interpretations of Natural Born were someone born in the U.S. of citizen parents. Congress can legislate naturalization, the process of becoming a citizen, but they cannot change the definition of Natural Born.

Well, Hillary defended McCain on the same issue so if precedent means anything, Cruz is eligible.

This is not a conspiracy section topic! The moderator(s) that keep moving this topic have no integrity and are clearly biased on this subject. Epic mod fail!

The OP definitely lies in conspiracy since Cruz never said he was ineligible but the writer interprets it that way as fact.

That doesn't make it a conspiracy topic. The moderators consistently move or delete all threads pertaining to presidential eligibility, no matter how the OP is framed. I'm getting tired of the clear bias.

There is no ambiguity. Read the statutes and the rulings in Wong Kim ark and ankeny v Daniels.
Having had the statutes and relevant case law given to you, you can't make this statement truthfully.
It isn't. Natural born citizen is a term carried over from British common law. It is interchangeable with natural born subject. Please read wong Kim ark.
No. And you can't support this statement with any law or court ruling.
    Of course they can.

Of course it is. This is settled law, and you've had that explained to you over and over again.

    Reality is biased?

It's a conspiracy because it is a completely debunked birther fantasy.

If Cruz is so stupid that he can't read the statutes that confirm his eligibility, he too stupid to be President.

So very true: Natural Born Citizen - A Place to Ask Questions and Get the Right Answers

"The founders and framers were fluent in French, the diplomatic language of the time, many having served as diplomats to France. Thomas Jefferson used his personal copy of the new 1775 French edition of the Vattel's Law of Nations or Principles of Natural Law to write the Declaration of Independence. He was also very influential in the creation of the U.S. Constitution. Quotations such as "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness", "Laws of Nature" and concepts for a new "more perfect" form of government with a written Constitution and independent Judiciary and the sovereignty of the People are right out of Vattel's Law of Nations or Principles of Natural Law. In 1776 Jefferson was tasked with primary responsibility for drafting the Declaration of Independence and if you read it after first reading Vattel's Law of Nations, Volume 1, you can see where he got his inspiration for many of the words and concepts. Jefferson was very influential via his correspondence to the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia Pa in 1787 and in getting the Bill of Rights added."

Actually not, McCain was born in Panama with both parents American but the decisive one is the father. A child of split parents have dual citizenship until the age of maturity wherein they can make a choice. But for the natural born part, it is the father that decides based on Vattle's Law of Nations. Jefferson actually the newest 1775 French version that he used during his writing of the Declaration and in his correspondence with the constitutional commission.

According to rumor, he also sent Madison a copy of this and many other books for use during the writing of the constitution. So Ted. being Ted is being absolutely open.

But, thank god that neo-con McCain didn't make it to the White House or WWIII would have come and gone by now.

Where did you get the idea that its based on the father only? Read the statutes.

Seems a vast majority of people desire to be ignorant of that which is so readily known and disdain all that tries to instill knowledge. Why do you think this country is in sure dire straits today?

Refute what? Using what? Declarations carry no weight at all.

The statutes define ONLY a citizen, not natural born citizen.

Of course you're a birther, now it makes sense!

But no, the law of nations didn't ckntsin the words natural born citizen until it was inserted into a translation 10 years AFTER the constitution was ratified. The words natural born citizen were never used by vattel

US v wong Kim ark. And ankeny v Daniels.

There are only two kinds of US citizenship.. If you are a foreigner who hasn't been naturalized, you aren't a US citizen.

American education is really in the crapper if you can't even think your way thru that one.. READ the statutes.

Thanks for proving your own point.

Cruz is not a naturalized citizen.

Naturalization is the process by which U.S. citizenship is granted to a foreign citizen or national after he or she fulfills the requirements established by Congress in the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA)
