Amnesty International, an International humen rights organization, investigated a case which occurd in the las operation in Gaza, which was when a rocket killed 11 children, 2 adults and 19 injored people and hit on a hospital atthe Al-Shati refugee camp on July 28.

Hamas at that time, tried to blame Israel for the killing, that was during the Muslim religious holiday Eid ul Fitr.
The investigation was conducted by independent ballistics experts working for Amnesty. The organization wrote in the report that Hamas and the Islamic Jihad and other militant groups are the responsibles for 4,800 rocket attacks and 1,700 mortar strikes, killing six Israeli civilians and 13 Palestinians during the last operation.
Amensty also found that Hamas hid within populated areas including UN schools.

It is respected when they critisize Israel. So they need to be respected as well if they publish a report in fevour of Israel.

If it can be contradicted, then I would not respect, and when it cant be contradicted I will respect.

so you cherry-pick when you will respect the views of AI?

AI also views the West Bank as being under Israeli occupation, and the settlements illegal. Do you respect that too?

    Defeating Hamas is definitely important.

Attempting to do that by slaughtering a few thousand citizens of Gaza has proven to be just as big a failure now as it has been in the past (noting that this last war was the third since the establishment of the blockade 8 years ago).

The Amnesty International report is a clear indictment of this whole methodology.

On the other hand, we have President Abbas who, by demonstrating a negotiations-only approach has been able to appeal to the people of Gaza and to unify the governments of Gaza and West Bank in a unity government that is dedicated to a permanent Palestine, but only through peaceful means and with the permanent presence of the state of Israel - divided by negotiated borders.

We should be promoting Abbas - the clear winner in the "how to defeat Hamas" competition.

so who can contradict the AI?

    private individuals...or organizations?

    - - - Updated - - -

we should demand Israel either annex the West Bank, or leave the West Bank.

If someone read a published report for all to see by Amnesty, and find while reading detelies that dont add up together, can to not believe or at least undermine the credibility of the report.

only an esteemed organization with a history and good reputation, can invalidate the views of the AI.

    True.

But even without any agreement on Palestine as a whole or on West Bank in particular, Hamas can be reduced by simple moves that are well within Israel's capability.

If Israel allowed Abbas to operate in Gaza (which, after all, is within his authority) Hamas would be crippled. Hamas gets significant revenue from movement of all goods into or out of Gaza. That should be unity government revenue, not local government (Hamas) revenue. And, with the unity government unable to solve problems inside Gaza, Hamas stands as the only operating government entity that local residents have. An active Abbas in Gaza would given citizens a real choice.

It was an historic concession and a huge demonstration of weakness that led Hamas to accede to the Abbas government. They CAN be had.

But, not by slaughtering civilians as has been the Israeli approach through so many wars now.

A person that reads reports of organizations that been published can see for himself, while reading it, if things add up or not.
People need to be with a critical approach instead of acting like a sheep in a herd.

cherry picking which AI reports they will believe, and which ones they will deny, simply due to the politics of the issue, is silly and dishonest.

It's not cherry picking, it's just reading reports. It's not because politics, but because of what is written in the reports. People can see if the report is cradible by reading and see if the detelies add up.
That's what it called to be with a critical approach instead of acting like a sheep in a herd.

your link has nothing to do with this thread.

if you believe the AI is right on this issue, then they are right on others issues as well, including the Occupation.

otherwise you're just cherry-picking based on political bias and prejudice.

The link was according to what you wrote, thus if the link was irrelevent to this thread, then also what you said in comment 18# was irrelevent with this thread.

I'm not cherry picking, I just checking reports as indevidual reports, and if one report is true, it doesnt mean that other report has detelies that dont add up.

so you're saying that whenever AI writes a report that is critical of the Arabs, they are right...but whenever they write a report that is critical of Israel, they are wrong?

    that sounds pretty illogical

by what logic are the reports about Hamas legit, but the ones about Israel not?

its all about the same subject.

why give the ones about Hamas legitimacy, but ignore the ones about Israel?

    seems highly inconsistent and biased.

AI is biased against discrimination, prejudice, injustice, and persecution.

they have reports about hundreds of states, every year, and try to be thorough as humanly possible.

As I already wrote to you:

No that's not what I said.
I said that every report of Al or not, needs to be checked that the information they use is add up with the rest of the report, if not then it is not a cradible report, and if it is adding up then it is cradible report.
