Progressive liberals are well known for revisionist history to further their socialist agenda. They go  when the truth is revealed that Ronald Reagan served in the U.S. Cavalry before WW ll. The last CnC to serve in the horse cavalry.

It always irks me whenever people try to call President Reagan a "Fake Hollywood Soldier". It simply proves that people who say that are only parroting disinformation and propaganda, and have no interest in learning the truth.

Most have absolutely no idea that he originally enlisted as a Private back in 1937 (before he even appeared in his first movie), and was already a Second Lieutenant in the Reserves when WWII broke out. When called to active service his poor eyesight kept him stateside, and rather then working as a port liaison in San Francisco, he transferred to the Army Air Corps where he was assigned to a unit making training films.

Along with such stars as William Holden, Alan Ladd, and John Houston.

I had no idea Reagan served. Never called him a fake soldier either.
My favorite among those who served was Jimmy Stewart- who had to fight to get out of doing propaganda work to fly combat missions over Germany.

And did it largely in secret.

The Army Air Corps actually did all they could to keep him out of flying combat missions, but he was able to sneak onto as many missions as he could. Even though he was a Staff Officer and eventually Bomb Wing Commander, on many occasions he would ground the pilot of a bomber at the last minute and then command it himself. He even flew as an observer in B-52s as late as the Vietnam War.

One of my favorites was Eddie Albert.

A very quet individual, he almost never talked about his wartime experiences. But as a Navy Lieutenant, he was in command of a landing craft at the Battle of Tarawa, and pulled almost 50 Marines out of the water when their own landing craft became disabled and they tried to wade to shore. He was awarded a Bronze Star with V, something rarely awarded to Sailors who are not Corpsmen or Pilots.

I only saw one television film where he talked about his experience, and that was shortly before he died, and he was only listed as "Edward Albert, USNR Lieutenant". If you did not recognize him as a once famous actor, you would never have realized it.

This is the only other video I have ever found where he talks even a little about his experience in WWII.
