We are on the fast track to another mass extinction and our politicians are completely unwilling to do anything about it. 9.8/10 of the most published climate scientists all agree that humans are causing the current run of climate change. And it's happening at a far faster than normal rate for what would be a typical natural climate change. Meaning animals do not have time to adapt to the changes. It may already be too late.

    How much to fix it?

    Will it really fix it?

    Prove it.

What exactly do we get when your fix is instituted? In dollars, please.

No, I don't expect any answer save hand waving and emotional spew. Go ahead anyway.

Ocean acidification triggered by Siberian Trap volcanism was a possible kill mechanism for the Permo-Triassic Boundary mass extinction, but direct evidence for an acidification event is lacking. We present a high-resolution seawater pH record across this interval, using boron isotope data combined with a quantitative modeling approach. In the latest Permian, increased ocean alkalinity primed the Earth system with a low level of atmospheric CO2 and a high ocean buffering capacity. The first phase of extinction was coincident with a slow injection of carbon into the atmosphere, and ocean pH remained stable. During the second extinction pulse, however, a rapid and large injection of carbon caused an abrupt acidification event that drove the preferential loss of heavily calcified marine biota.

Acid levels rising CO2 levels off the chart? I think the larger threats is the amount of bs-2 in the world

If you're operating a plant and line carrying toxic material bursts, you're not going to sit around and talk about how much it will cost to fix it, or if you're sure it will really work. You're going to fix the damn thing RIGHT NOW to prevent further damage or a total collapse of the operation.

That is correct, unless there really exists no problem, or exists no fix is there really IS a problem. If it's the latter, liberals will conjur a way to extort money to fund meaningless research that will show the results they THEY want, to further extort additional funds from whomever it takes.

FWIW, Chicken Little has left the building with Goosey Lucy. Rumor has it they have a flat in lower Manhattan where they do kinky stuff to each other with feathers. To whom else can we run to tell that the sky is falling?? <sarcasm off>

why, is there something in there other than "open your pocket books to fix the problem that we aren't even able to accurately figure out, we'll tell you when to stop paying.... trust us"

Why do you even bother sitting around on a debate forum if you just disregard everything you're presented with? Read the science, come back when you're done so that we can have an actual discussion instead of you making claims without reading the bloody material.

because your data has been repeatedly shown to have been achieved with fudged data

Have you considered giving that a shot yourself? We haven't seen you quote from anything as of yet and nor deliver upon this forum a positively stunning analysis guaranteed to turn doubters into believers in leftwing climate dogma. So . . . dazzle us.

If there were a meaningful cause and effect correlation between this "The Last Time Oceans Got This Acidic This Fast, 96% of Marine Life Went Extinct" and this "Somebody do something now!" then it would already be too late because everything in the oceans and seas would already be dying off on a massive scale and all life on Earth would be doomed. So at that point . . . "What difference does it make?" Gotta love the leftwing neo-classics!

So you have read it? Awesome. Quote the data in that report that's fudged, please.

    And yet right now...nothing.

Pollution = bad. Climate change = nonexistent.

Focus on getting the chemicals out of the ocean and air....that is what will kill us....not a miniscule change in temperature.

Yep an aggressive newbie with an ideological bug up the butt thinking that he (or she) is going to show veteran posters how it's done (for a randomly and ever changing value of 'done'). Like we don't encounter that . . . all the damn time. What's fun is when you find a pair on opposite ends of the political/ideological spectrum and then manage to launch them at one another's throat. Then it's popcorn time! Wooohooooo! :clapping:

More climate change lies. Progressive won't stop their lies and middle class tax war. They won't stop till the middle class is taxed to its nonexistent.
This is their biggest lie yet

Really? Care to share what you found bad in the data?

Indeed. Our leftists (nationwide and worldwide) are going about this stuff the wrong way. Instead of being self-righteous and in-your-face prats and various sorts of wankers they simply need to publish success stories around how THEY as a group have begun decontamination and reclamation work that DOES NOT eventually bite the local area on the butt when eventually it is discovered that by concentrating their efforts in one area they inadvertently caused another and even more vital area to BEGIN the process of turning belly-up. But all they do is preach and shake their trembling finger of blame and then attempt to ALWAYS extort more funding for their (at this point) religious-like cause. Oh . . . and they need to cease using it for their politically-based machinations. People are really getting tired of that major bad habit of theirs.

what a bunch of crap! CO2 levels during the Cambrian were in the 4 digits and the largest explosion of life ever seen took place. Why do people post such lies and nonsense is beyond stupid, are they just paid morons sitting in a lobbyist firms cubical? Or do they just hate the western way of life and determined to play on the low info Dimocrats lack of scientific knowledge? Either way they are just evil human beings to spread such lies and nonsense

All I need is to know that if anyone in the world that would have the true data in front of them it would be Obama. Wouldn't you say that's true? Now with all the data he has in front of him he isn't worried at all about this BS the progressive are pushing just to tax the middle class even more.
There is a record of lies to tax the middle class already by the left and this is their big one.

why would I want to read some cherry picked nonsense on a lobbying site when I have thousands of peer reviewed papers that discredit the propaganda there ? You want to be a low info sheep then go for it. For every propaganda paper Cook can link I can find hundreds that say he is full of (*)(*)(*)(*)

It's originally from Science, the same high caliber science journal that gave us the human genome.
