What did they know—and when did they know it?

As much as the White House might wish it would, the Bowe Bergdahl prisoner swap scandal simply refuses to die.
Last year, the U.S. government(http://legalinsurrection.com/2014/0...hl-taliban-hostage-deal-worth-it-reader-poll/) released 5 Taliban terrorists in exchange for the life of Bowe Bergdahl, a man who most of the country—and all of his colleagues—believes deserted his post in Afghanistan in 2009. Since then, administration officials have been on offense,(http://legalinsurrection.com/2014/06/house-hearing-hagel-defends-taliban-bergdahl-swap/) defending their actions before Congress, members of the media, and the families of soldiers who kept their posts under fire.
The swap was only half the scandal. Soon after the swap went down, Bergdahl and his parents were invited to the White House for a very public visit, and Susan Rice rode the TV circuit to proclaim that Bergdahl had served honorably and had earned his rescue.
Not so fast, though. New information coming from some of Bergdahl’s platoonmates suggests that then-Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Admiral Mike Mullen knew in 2009 that Bergdahl was at least suspected of desertion—which means that it’s likely the White House knew then, too.

Fox News reports(http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/04/17/bergdahl-teammates-head-joint-chiefs-knew-walked-off/) on conversations platoonmate Sgt. Matt Vierkant says he had with Mullen:
After pulling security duty for the chairman, who was doing a swing through Afghanistan in December 2009, Vierkant, along with Evan Buetow and Cody Full, said they met informally with Mullen and about eight other soldiers. After a pep talk about the mission, the three said Mullen asked the squad leaders and platoon leadership to take a break.
“He sat down with all the lower enlisted guys and the team leaders and basically he said, ‘Hey, what do you want to know…You got any questions? He’s like, I’m an open book. Let’s just have a little question and answer session,” Buetow explained.
“So Matt asked him, you know Bergdahl deserted, what’s going on with that? And Admiral Mullen said, ‘Yes, we know all the circumstances surrounding Bergdahl walking away from the OP (outpost,)and we’re still working on getting him back, figuring out where he is and kind of figuring out that whole situation.’”
This account was backed up by a third platoon mate, former Specialist Cody Full. The men were split on whether Mullen singled them out because of the Bergdahl connection or whether it was a chance meeting, but they emphasized that at the time, they appreciated the fact that Mullen seemed to speak candidly and openly.

Catherine Herridge of Fox News explains why this is significant: in 2009, Mullen reported directly to President Obama and then Secretary of Defense Robert Gates. If he knew about the alleged desertion, he would have sent that information up the chain of command—straight to the Oval Office, making the administration’s claims of honorable service suspect at best.

"Then chairman Admiral M. Mullen admitted that Bowe Bergdahl was a deserter when he visited the unit for Thanksgiving, saying he didn't know why the military was wasting so much energy to save him, according to one of Bergdahl's platoon members.
Why is it the pro-Obama Lame Stream Media won’t take any of these accusations head on because they require calling soldiers liars? Just imagine if this were Bush and he tried to hide behind a deserter to dodge a scandal in which veterans died at the VA, the LSM would be screaming its head off.

There is no doubt the the Obama admin knew with in a day or two that Bergdahl was a deserter and maybe a traitor. This is just anther deal of a grand screw up and cover up with lies by the obama admin.

Attorney: Army officer recommends Sgt. Bergdahl face lower-level court martial, no jail time

    THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
    OCTOBER 10, 2015Email

AUSTIN, Texas - An Army officer is recommending that Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl face a lower-level court martial and be spared the possibility of jail time for leaving his post in Afghanistan, his lawyer said Saturday.

Defence attorney Eugene Fidell said Lt. Col. Mark Visger has decided Bergdahl's case should go to a military system similar to civilian courts that handle misdemeanour charges. It limits the maximum punishment to reduction of rank, a bad conduct discharge and a short jail term, though that isn't being sought, Fidell said.

Military prosecutors charged Bergdahl in March with desertion and misbehaviour before the enemy, a charge that could carry a maximum penalty of life imprisonment.

Bergdahl was captured by the Taliban after leaving his post on June 30, 2009, and held until last year, when he was exchanged for five Taliban commanders. His commanding officers in Afghanistan say a 45-day search for Bergdahl put soldiers in danger.

The Obama administration's prisoner swap was sharply criticized by many Republicans and some Democrats, who said it was politically motivated and counter to the U.S. policy against negotiating with terrorists.

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump said Thursday that Bergdahl should have been executed for leaving his post in Afghanistan and called him a "no-good traitor," which he also said in August.

Paul Boyce, a spokesman for the U.S. Army's Force Command, released a statement Saturday that didn't confirm Visger's decision.

"As legal action is ongoing, we continue to maintain careful respect for the military-judicial process, the rights of the accused, and ensuring the case's fairness and impartiality," Boyce said.

Hah, most of us believe that Obama is behind this and the fix is in. Anyone that has been in the military knows how quickly and thorough the Military Justice System is. There is enough evidence in Bergdahl's desertion that could convict 6 soldiers. Yet, Obama is putting pressure on the Generals to sweep this under the rug. The evidence must be considered of what transpired before Bergdahl deserted. He sent home all his personal equipment, left his rifle and personal protective rig on his rack, then walked off the base. There are even recorded telephone intercepts showing that Bergdahl was seeking the Taliban. The fix is in folks.
