Progressive men love nothing more than pandering to women due to low self esteem. And their self worth is often validated from female approval. NYC has just approved of these idiotic signs made by an apparel company, and a beta reporter gets shown up by an alpha.

Good to know that Comrade DeBlasio has his priorities straight and will no doubt allocate the NYPD's resources to enforce this against Satan incarnate (straight men)

The feminization of the western male is a tragedy. For better or worse, it's why many men in Europe have converted to Islam which embraces the masculine traits. Progressives and feminists are a bigger threat to America than radical Islam.

I'm not a big fan of catcalling. And I'm not a big fan of watching commercials where the woman is the genius and the man is a helpless wimp.

to me, cat-calling is the equivalent of honking a horn at a pretty girl....you have run out of possible opening lines if you have to resort to "whooo hooooo"

    plus, I can't whistle.....

also, watch a Disney kids show.... every male father figure on those shows is a beta, bumbling idiot. There are ZERO male authority figures in any of those shows.

I have never met a woman who enjoys cat calls. I've met plenty who actively avoid construction sites and certain neighborhoods where they know they'll get hassled. Also if you use words like Alpha male and Beta male you're probably not as much of a ladies man as you think you are.

While I can't say I ever met her, Kim Kardashian would probably go into a deep depression if people stopped giving her the attention she craves.

BTW, why do most women work so hard at looking good only to feel insulted when they succeed? A cat call sorta says that all that work paid off. Like I said, I would never whistle at a woman, or even stare at one, but they get all dolled up for something.

there was that good looking lady that walked NYC streets in an outfit that attracted looks.... and then got mad when she got looks. Even the ones that just tried to introduce themselves to the girl, were tallied up into the group that "harrassed her"

So dressing attractively is an invitation to be hooted at and accosted?

Maybe she was on her way to a date with her boyfriend. What makes you think she was dressing up for random people on the street? Why should trying to look nice open the doors to unwanted attention from random strangers?

absolutely not, but the problem with her social experiment was, she was including people that said "hey, my name is xxxx, what's your name?" as those who "accosted her".

The signs are illegal but illegal aliens are not?

The signs are ridiculous. It is pretty ridiculous that whistling has turned into a sacrilege. Accosting or harassing is one thing but a simple yoyza once in a while is completely inappropriate and intimidating?

Patric Swayze met his soon to be wife by tapping her on the fanny. I guess he should have been arrested instead.

You can't tell me there are no women who enjoy that stuff.

While people should be respectul, acknowledgement of being pretty is hardly an insult, some people crave it. Besides, this is New York, would anyone expect anything less? It's their culture to speak their mind and do so very abruptly. And hey, I'm not defending this, I'm just calling 'em as I see 'em.

the issue is, Patrick Swayze was a good looking guy.... the fine line between harrassment and welcome is if they are attracted to the guy catcalling....

Ask Clarence Thomas the difference between a good pick up line and a bad pickup line. If he looked like Denzel Washington, I bet Anita hill would have been all like..... "teehheeee, oh stop Clarence, you bad"

Also true! Good looks get away with a lot of stuff, just ask one of them ladies complaining about being accosted because of their good looks. I guarantee, none of them can claim they never used their looks to get something they probably didn't deserve or earn.

they sure don't mind accepting a job they got when all qualifications are about equal with another applicant and they were hired because they were a little more easier on the eyes than the other candidate....

Um... that IS "accosting", depending on how it's done. Was there an invitation to speak? Any sort of context that would have made the other person think she was open to being approached?

If you're walking down the street, minding your own business, and people keep stepping in front of you and trying to introduce themselves, that's accosting.

Yes once it becomes intrusive, or creepy it is accosting. Whistling from a distance, and tipping your hard hat if they look is NOT accosting anyone. They might find it tasteless or classless but it probably doesn't bother the guy who did it. Just a game of attention getting. Probably made his day if she looks. Nobody hurt.
