He tells us it's because he doesn't want to cover another election cycle, and other deflective issues, but the truth is this - his ratings have been slipping. And you wanna know when they started slipping ? It was around 2013 when the Daily Show decided to begin pushing the progressive agenda instead of the liberal one that the show had since the show's inception. It was around 2013 that the idea of gay marriage changed to transgender rights. It's when really good corespondents left and instead, feminists and race traitors took over - making every sketch about how women and minorities are "oppressed." Good example is the segment about NYC cat calling problem where black female reporter Jessica Williams showed her "harassment" throughout the day walking in NYC when men dared to tell her, "hello" and "hi, would you like to go out ?" It backfired. And then, during the Ferguson dilemma, the Daily Show latched onto the "black lives matter" mantra and ran it into the ground. it's pretty sad when people listen to satire comedy for their news source..and they dont know it is not real...no wonder why Gruber said what he did it is true
of course the decline in ratings directly associated with the time the Stewart took off to make his movie but why let the facts get in the way of a rant. As for news. Part of the satire does bring out facts that real news outlets don't bring up. Satire has a very long history of being truth tellers.
Umm... he was gone from July - Sept '13. The ratings improved for that bit there... but don't let the facts get in the way of your apology.
I really don't care why he's quitting, I'm just glad he is. He wasn't that bright in the first place, although lib's (especially the uninformed young) loved the "slam rep's at every turn" style. Could be Debbie Wasserman Schultz wanted to get paid for writing his material too...who knows...good riddance.
Well he had a successful T.V. show watched by millions. What have you done? Oh yeah, posted anonymously on an internet chat board. Wow, you must feel soooo important.
His ratings are slipping because he is getting lazy and simply writing every joke based off of FOX news. Its getting stale.
He never had more than 30 minutes of decent material his entire life. But he did manage to spread it out over several years, thanks to how clueless and passive the average TV audience is, kind of like pop music stars and Bieber Fads.
Or it could be that he is if filthy (*)(*)(*)(*)ing rich and wants to enjoy the rest of his time doing what he wants to do. I imagine even working on a comedy/satire show gets to be a grind after a while. He is an average comedian at best but some of his skits are actually funny. The google glass one had me falling out of my chair.
