In the event of a large scale war between two powerful countries, naval battles have become obsolete.
Though U-boats still serve a role for missile launching.

The US has a bigger navy than Germany is news to anybody?
    Living under a rock?
I got some news, the US army is bigger than the German one, much bigger, and ... oh wonder ... the US is a much bigger country than Germany.
What exactly is the purpose of this thread?
Is someone just eager to stroke his American c**k?

That's the smallest U.S. Navy in the past 100 years.

1/2 of the ships shown above can't even put to sea and fight.

Of the U.S. Army's 33 combat brigades, only three to five are capable of being deployed and able to fight. 28 of Obama's Army brigades have a combat readiness rating of either a C-4 or C-5. Unacceptable. A C-1 rating is being able to deploy and fight.

So long as it is deployed against anti-democratic forces then I welcome any expansion of the German or Japanese fleets.
