When I refer to fact I hate thugs, I get told it's a code word for the N word. Now, it's true I don't like the n-word, but Chris Rock easily explains why there is a different between blacks and thugs.

Oh, wait - is Chris Rock a racist too ?!

Now, imagine if a white person said what Chris said. Ouch!

But he illustrates very well the difference between hating black people and hating black thugs.

Oh I don't disagree I could just imagine the outcry if a white person had said this.

So do you love black people but hate "thugs" or do you just hate "thugs"?

The point is he likes black people who AREN'T (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)s or thugs, that's not a bad thing. Pretty much the same as saying you like Christians/Muslims/Jews but hate religious zealots and fundamentalists.

Actually, Channe hasn't said they like black people at all - that was my point. Chris Rock makes a very clear point of some black people doing good things and some black people doing bad things - the problem isn't the blackness, it's the bad things - but he's being compared to those who only ever talk about some black people doing bad things which doesn't establish the same distinction.

for racists, all black people are (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)s, regardless of their behavior

and yet there is no such derogatory term for white people, I wonder why.

Actually, there are a lot, but having white privilege means you don't care what you're called.

(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*) is a hateful, disgusting word.

its racist for a white person to use it, and self-hating for a black person to use it.

its one of the few words that we should expunge from the English language.

it has no place in our lexicon.

I agree, no one should use the word....

it's racist for anyone to use, in fact it's racist to say it's not..... because then one is basing right or wrong of use of the word on race

no one should use the word period..... regardless of race....

No because the n word is a racial slur when said by a non black. Thug represents the culture. Rock is saying the n word means thug.

It's okay. Nothing to see here. He's black so it's okay, whatever he does.

Black people use that word to refer to one another ALL the time. What do you think would happen should a white comedian use the N word?

its self-hatred and low self esteem

they know exactly what it means, and that's why if a white person calls them the N word, they react appropriately.

    and what?

if you are not an american and try criticizing america on this forum, how is it received?
yes, you make some interesting points that we should reflect on???
wow, it is so GREAT to have the perspective of a non american about america....thx for sharing?..

i am not a christian and have noticed that fact automatically disqualifies me from discussing the bible
of course christians can tell you all about islam and the koran..... no problem

if no black says anything like Rock said, then we bemoan they are not dealing with reality
when Rock does say these things
then we white folks are all in a tizzie about how we are victims because this is what we are trying to say

i have observed that parents try to tell their kids things
and get the rolling eye ball treatment
if Michael Jordan (or whomever) says the same thing suddenly it is taken seriously
why do you suppose that is?
you think it is just your kids who are like this?

do you think blacks are any different than anyone else?
you think that christians love criticism from non christians
do we love to be called on our shiet by other nations?

i think Chris Rock said some very important things
and i wish we could do better than use this as an excuse to whine about how persecuted we are

Did you mean to quote someone else? Because nothing you wrote has anything to do with what I said. BTW, I am an American.

its only not self hatred if you are completely unfamiliar with the negative connotation of the word "(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)". you'd have to be pretty young to not know.

anyone over the age of 25, knows what it means. And will be deeply offended if called a "(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)" as an insult.
