We just need to obey our established laws and do what Mexico does.

Mexico Deports More Immigrants Back to Central America Than the United States Does

Of course, their southern border is a lot smaller than ours. But, they don't fool around. There's only one thing the article didn't cover – how many immigrants get through due to greasing a few pockets or paying smugglers to get them across? :steamed:

Bobby Jindal: ‘Immigration Without Assimilation Is Invasion’
August 31, 2015 | Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal told CBS’s “Face the Nation” on Sunday that people who want to come to the United States should learn English and adopt our values, because “immigration without assimilation is invasion.”

U.S. Ambassador: 17,000 Syrian Refugees Waiting to Come Here
August 31, 2015 | U.S. Ambassador Brett McGurk said that 17,000 Syrian refugees have applied to enter the U.S. and that the nation will likely take in “more” of them next year. “We took in about 1,500 last year. We think we’ll take in more next year,” McGurk, who serves as the deputy special presidential envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter ISIL, said Sunday on Meet the Press with Chuck Todd.

The USA went through a period between WWI and WWII in which it virtually shut off immigration. We had a time when people who came here turned their backs on the woes of their past to look forward to what this nation had to offer them. Many still retained vestiges of their national origin but they learned to speak English and accept American customs. Many of the good things of their national origins were assimilated into American society and we were the better for it.

Sadly, we've reached a point where people want to come here - only to bring the very things they are fleeing with them. And to ignore what is already here.

The old ethnic enclaves still exist is minor forms. But, we are finding new ethnic enclaves where outsiders are no longer welcome.

And even sadder, thanks to the current atmosphere of division, we are finding other major ethnic separatism that is increasing violence and turning this country into the very turmoil so many people are fleeing from.

First generation immigrants have always wanted to take their old home with them. Ben Franklin complained about the Pennysvlvania Germans not wanting to assimilate. Now, those same Pennsyvlania Germans are as American as apple pie (which they brought over from the Old World). Ethnic enclaves aren't new, but they change over time. Now, it seems like Hispanics don't want to assimilate. In three generations, we won't think that.

From 1925 to 1965 there was almost no legal or illegal immigration, and it was no accident that from '45 to '65 the US' middle class enjoyed its best, most progressive years in terms of purchasing power, job quality, etc. Then the scum democratic party realized that since Truman, they never obtained a majority of the white vote, and with their far left, lunatic policies would never do so, opted to f--k over the country and pass the 1965 Immigration Act. It was done to import lots of impoverished immigrants from central/south americans who, unlike the northern, conservative-leaning white europeans who had been the preferred group for decades, would vote for more welfare benefits for themselves and those who would give it to them - the democrats.

There most definitely will be a race war/civil uprising in this country, and a lot of people are going to be killed because of the democratic party's wretched, treasonous crimes to bring in huge numbers of illegals paid for on the backs of the middle class.

I've been saying this for years. The Democrats sold their country out for a vote. It makes them no different than the greedy rich. They are nothing but 'faux' left wingers giving their voters the illusion that they actually care about them.

The bigger question is how did 65,000 central american children sneak through without mexico even noticing?

Mexico was and is fully aware of who is crossing its borders to come to the USA. Mexican officials in the south are making lots of $$$$ from smugglers who are bringing them across. Once they are in Mexico, it has no idea of them staying and facilitates their travel north to our border.

You are wrong on so many counts, albeit in good faith.

In the 1950s the government began deporting all the Hispanics back to south of the border. In less than five years, the unemployment rate doubled.

In 1965 Congress rammed through the Kennedy Immigration Laws and you admit that "It was done to import lots of impoverished immigrants from central/south americans..." What do we hear from those opposed to the status quo? Is it not "let's enforce the laws we have on the books?" OMG, we complain about the Ds on one hand and on the other demand that the laws passed by the Ds be enforced.

The thing that the Secure the border lobby cannot fathom is that immigration = citizenship. Keep that in mind as I continue. Immigration, by its definition, means that the individual seeks to be a permanent resident here. Everybody that comes here does NOT need, nor do the necessarily want, to become a citizen in order to exercise Liberty.

What we have today are silly laws that force people to become citizens; laws that give preference to non-whites becoming citizens; laws with arbitrary numbers regarding Guest Workers that are over a HALF CENTURY old!!! If people have no intention of becoming citizens, it is folly to expect them to assimilate. Let them come, work and make money... then leave. There is no just cause for forced citizenship.

For those who want a wall, let me say this: Not only would it be ineffective, but it doesn't even affect the 40 percent of the foreigners in that category that enter properly and over-stay their visa. BTW, none of those here without papers can be considered criminals because that is not the way the law works. I'm not sure what "problem" you're addressing. There is no need for any wall.
