I wonder how did we get this peace of news?
Some Russian trolls are so obvious it hurts. What is sad is that others take their stance and support their views. Critical thinking hurts too.
The Russians are late to the game, but there is more than one team.

 

She's playing with fire. This is Putin after all. I fear for her safety.

In fairness, the Russian economy is not doing so well, it is set to contract 1 - 2% this year do in part to sanctions, but mainly to a lowering of crude oil prices.

These people need jobs, and if that means sitting in front of a computer, using google translator and going on various discussion groups and basically typing out disinformation, it's rubles for food on their table and to keep a roof over their head. Corruption is rampant there, it can't be a very pleasant way to live in a heightened state of paranoia.

 

I actually think Putin is good for Russia, he is bringing back their pride which has been lacking a few decades now. He is going about it in some stupid ways but it is uniting the people.

The trolls this lady is talking about have ruined this world news section and several others forums I frequent. Your right they are blatantly obvious but the commotion they stir up still causes enough problems for me to avoid it all together.

We all fear for her safety. Who knows what will be the next step?
But I heard that this campaign succeeded enough. This troll factory was sued and closed. Thanks God.

Shame that it seems that particular troll factory wasn't home to any of the Russian trolls that plague this site.

food is of no problem to afford here in Russia right now; come and visit here to see for yourself, instead of making up stories.

most Russians own the apartments they live in as a private property, and according to Russian laws it isn't easy to evict anyone here.

I've heard this on here before and I'm calling bushwa. Saying your opposition is a paid shill is something of a rather common propagandist's tool and has been for some time. It's easy to accuse and practically impossible to conclusively refute.

Yahoo News is not purely propaganda but also not really that reliable. Mind, I don't think they're biased as much as they're just not really that careful. And it seems this story would be picked up by the other news outlets in fairly short order, When I see Frontline even mention it, I might give it more credence

The main problem to me is there seems no real way to tell a genuinely patriotic Russian who believes his government (right or wrong) and likes to post from a troll. The same thing could apply to Western sources. Look how kneejerk lots of the rightwingers and even leftwingers are on this very board. Are all of our rightists in the pay of the Kochs? If George Soros is supporting me the checks are rather late.

If someone is actually PAYING people to troll these boards I really think the only violence that will ever be done them is when Putin actually finds out how badly someone is wasting his money. Nobody reads these boards, not even the people that POST on them for the most part. They surely have next to nothing of any actual effect on world opinion.

The premise: Anybody who has anything good to say about Russia or Vladimir Putin needs to be exposed as a "troll"...
So, you send a "mole" to create the role of being a "troll" (Wow! All of that rhymed!)
Then, the "troll" searches his soul with the goal of not being an ********, and makes a confession -- which takes a heavy TOLL, but he feels better afterward. (This is almost fun....)

You've got to love the intrigue-play... almost reminds me of us versus the old Soviet Union, at a time when we were still "us", and the Soviet Union even existed. Oh, well... now, back to reality....

if compared to their Western counterparts, then certainly yes, it is. West media just portrays Russia beyond recognition; so i can't recognise my own country when i read about it in some Western media outlet.
