Today he posted tax returns back to 1981.

Doesn't sound like a tax cheat to me. Can that be said of all candidates for 2016?

I don't want another Bush (or Clinton) in the White House, but I do have to admit, this is impressive.

    He needs a better accountant.

Did you expect that he was collecting welfare? This is indicative of the lib/prog mantra of class warfare. If he paid 95% in taxes, they would complain it wasn't higher.

He has a few other issues, but he is smarter than his father or his brother; he didn't have to get shipped off to the 'elite' northeastern 'legacy' farces, Phillips-Andover, Harvard, Yale cycle like George W did after flunking out in Texas schools, and like most of the retarded kids the wealthy usually have, to his credit. He's definitely better than most of the candidates in the GOP primaries, with the possible exception of Huckabee.

It's moot anyway because he will be the GOP nominee. This will be yet another election where I'll be writing in either Ralph Nader or Pat Buchanan, depending on what mood I'm in that day.

Is that a yes or a no? Or just a comeback that ignores the question?

Unless you know what he paid 36% on, you can't tell; 36% on what, and after what deductions and income deferments and such? He doesn't run a hedge fund, at least as far as I know, so he doesn't get the 15% rate those swindlers get.

how rich do you have to be before that 13% to 15% rate kicks in?

Nobody said that at all. What is typical is making up some bogus asinine statement and then saying it's something that liberals believe in.

You'll take that as "evidence"... and yet you'll vote for Hillary, the elitist, lying, crooked, 1%er? Or were you going to address her disastrous political career later....?

What are you talking about? Jeb Bush went to Phillips Academy Andover, just like GW did and GHW did a generation before.

In the OP I should have said that he is not a tax dodger rather than a tax cheat.

So he paid a "fairer share" than most politicians.

I thought it was a given that all Republicans are tax-avoiding scum bags.

Oh horse (*)(*)(*)(*). Nobody pays the top rate, NOBODY! What percentage did he pay? The average rich person pays about 15% and very few of them pay over 22%. If this is true, and it is doubtful, he really needs to stop doing his own taxes and hire an accountant. They can shave that debt down to the 20% mark pretty easy

He didn't flunk out of his Texas school, and unlike his Dad or his brother made honor roll his senior year at Andover, and instead of going to Yale he went to UT Austin instead of being a 'legacy student' at Yale, like his dumbass brother. He graduated a Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude from UT, where he had to earn his honors instead of being a 'legacy' and getting shoveled through the Rich Kid Track at the 'Ivy League' schools. UT-Austin has higher academic standards than Harvard or Yale. Those schools have something like 20%-30% 'legacies' running around wasting space and other people's time there.

We'll see how he fares in the propaganda wars; he has some business deals and such that have yet to be examined under a microscope, although these are rarely a problem for the GOP base; they not only love corruption they insist on it; it's a key plank for their Party platform, but it might affect the general election.

Maybe he believes more in 'paying his fair share' than a lot of progressives do.
