There is no excuse for not performing your job as a legal official. You swear to serve the community. The entire community. Not just the ones you agree with.

Either resign or issue the licenses. If you wont do your job quit. Otherwise you are going to face the legal consequences.

Well said, but hey heres the problem.

Why the (*)(*)(*)(*) should this clerk uphold the law she disagrees with?

    King Obama doesn't.

The Presidency is the highest standard of law in the land and so if Obama ignores laws why in the hell should others not be able to do the same?

ALL LIBERALS ANSWER THIS QUESTION WHEN YOU'RE DONE BEING OUTRAGED

I'm sure a judge would be moved by such an articulate argument.

There is a manufacturer of motors for hospital beds who has taken a bold stand and refuses to cater gay weddings.

Yes there is. It's against her religion. In this country we have a first amendment right to freedom of religion.

"Officials have also warned that the defiant clerks could be risking criminal charges."

And I guess now we will be seeing Christians going to prison for their religious beliefs.

We will be back in the Supreme Court on this issue next session.

When asked about the Supreme Court ruling on the EPA that went against the Obama Administration, the White House press whore Josh Earnest said, "Obviously, we're disappointed with the outcome," he said. "I will say, based on what we have read so far, there is no reason that this court ruling should have an impact on the ability of the administration to develop and implement the clean power plant [ruling]."

In other words, it doesn't matter what the court said, they are going to do it anyway!

Anyone can refuse to do their job if it goes against their religious beliefs. Haven't you heard of the first amendment?

Why can't homosexuals be more tolerant? Can't they go to another county that will do same sex marriages? Why do they have to harass this clerk?

There is a very big difference between these two things. One states an agency will continue to do it's job and figure out a work around, The other states they will simply not do their job at all because an ancient book and an unseen being tell it not to....according to the person refusing to do their job.

Gimme a break...if a Civil Servant is employed to do a job they cant refuse to do their job because of religious beliefs...
If they refuse to do their job, they should be sacked.....the Mandamus is a last resort...
If a person is entitled to apply for a marriage license, then the civil clerk has an obligation to accept the application...
It is outside their duties to refuse the application because of their religious beliefs.....
Youre also being contradictory arent you.....
Youre saying that the clerk can rely on religious beliefs, but the applicant cant rely on anything...
What a load of unadulterated crap....
No wonder the USA is in such a freeken mess...youre all crazy........

One is going to do what it was told not to do because the holy leader Obama wants it done and doesn't believe in the Constitution.

The other refuses to do her job because she does believe in the one true God and the Constitution.

I know that is what you believe because this is the next stage, the next step for the marxist in chief and all his socialist followers. Attack Christians, attack the church, demonize people of faith. I'm sorry, this court ruling didn't eliminate the first amendment and gays don't get to practice hate, intolerance and bigotry just because gay people want to act like straight people.

Right, and she has a right to refuse to do that job. It's called the freedom of religion.

Well it's not good business, but if they want to refuse, why not? Gays shouldn't have special rights. They shouldn't be a protected class. Gay is not black. What we should do is refuse them all kinds of services, that will tie up the courts with civil and criminal cases so much so that nothing will be able to be prosecuted or resolved because the courts are too tied up.

The fact that they don't have a marriage license shows that she can.

should employees be able to refuse to see a employers product and not be fired for it?

should a Mormon be able to tell customers they can't buy a bible or what not? when the owner has them for sale?

this is what employees are doing to the government.... they should be fired
