What do you expect, her to commit hari khari? Was really an excellent performance by the U.S. Women's soccer team. Interesting that a sport played with a ball, like soccer, doesn't seem to catch on with American sports fans, yet the women bring out some of the best in our sports minded fans. The USA-USA chants and regalia in the stands were impressive, loved the fan in the American Eagle suit, and the girls made everybody proud. When you add the nationalist pride, like happens during the Olympics and World Cup, and Women's World Cup, to the game, it lends a whole new meaning to the game. These girls laid down late the last time they played the Japanese, playing defensive, and got caught and beat. This was a much better team and they wasted no time establishing supremacy on the field. That 54-yard goal kick was spectacular. Congrats to the ladies, even more kudos to the probable number of young girls whom they have converted to soccer as fans. Celebrities and class from the American's - you can't beat that...........

Japan clearly underestimated what Carli Lloyd was capable of. The USA's Abby Wambach and Alex Morgan are the two key forward players to watch out for but Carli Lloyd was an unmarked dark horse, which enabled her to score three goals in just 16 minutes. I guess Japanese defenders were too preoccupied with stopping Morgan, the star player with 2 million Twitter followers, but the American victory would be good for women's football in the long run after a 16-year Women's World Cup drought.

Abby Wambach kisses wife after World Cup win
A poignant moment that wasn't lost on gay rights supporters

Abby Wambach celebrated the United States' 5-2 victory over Japan in the Women's World Cup final on Sunday, racing to the stands to kiss her wife, Sarah Huffman.

Coming on the heels of the Supreme Court's historic decision to legalize same-sex marriage, the significance of the moment wasn't lost on gay rights supporters watching on television.

On Twitter, many noted how far American culture has come since the last U.S. Women's World Cup victory in 1999.

No one gives a (*)(*)(*)(*) about women's soccer. This is another left wing media campaign only because it's women. Look at who played in the finals. The US and Japan?? Two countries that never made it to the real World Cup. Why is it that all the countries that live soccer 365 days a year couldn't care less about women's teams? This is all about left wing propaganda. Just look at who started this thread. Just look at this headline: FIFA could do more to lessen gender inequality in World Cup interest
    Los Angeles Times‎
If NYC had a real mayor instead of (*)(*)(*)(*)blasio, there'd be no parade for this meaningless "world" championship.
