Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush has made a leap in his campaign run for the White House, leading the list of Republican presidential contenders in at least two national polls released this month.

The Hill, a top US political newspaper read by the White House and more lawmakers than any competitor, reported that Bush now has a clear lead in polling both nationally and in New Hampshire, improving his chances to be the GOP nominee.

"He runs 7 percentage points ahead of his nearest rival in CNN's latest national poll and beats the field in New Hampshire by about 5 percentage points, according to the RealClearPolitics (RCP) average," The Hill said on Monday.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, a favorite in Iowa, trails behind at second place since his 17.5 percent support in RCP average helped him occupy the position as the main conservative challenger to Bush's 19 percent, The Hill said.

The non-partisan American political publication explained that one of Bush's advantages is that he is expected to have "truckloads of cash" that is needed to sustain a long campaign and help him in March.

Eleven states are scheduled to vote on Super Tuesday, March 1.

"If the race is still competitive by March 15, Bush's money edge will be augmented by home-court advantage when Florida votes, along with Illinois, Missouri and Oregon," The Hill said.

Given that, prepare for my predictions to start coming true.

    1. Most Rightwing Media, but certainly Fox, will start to swing towards praising and defending Jeb as he comes under "vicious attacks by Democrats, Hillary, and the Lib'rul Media."

    2. Rightwing Radio hosts will ever so slooooooooooowly stop bashing Jeb as a "RINO".....not real soon, but in a few months. Limbaugh will stop talking about him entirely...focus only on Hillary.....then throw out a few "Jeb did pretty well in the debate too" in his "analysis" of the GOP Debates.

    3. Led by Rightwing Media and their Mentors on the Radio....the "pure conservatives" who defiantly declare "I will NEVER vote for that RINO amnesty-lover Jeb"....or "If Jeb is the Nominee...I won't vote"....

90% of them will become his defenders....then "reluctant" supporters....then enthusiastic boosters about the time Jeb scores big during Super Tuesday in March of next year.

95% of them by Late Spring 2016.

And the remaining 5%? Will go "silent running" on the blogs....simply not mentioning Jeb, certainly not attacking him (and risk angering their friends).....just focusing solely on Hillary.

But in the privacy of the voting booth in November 2016?....doing exactly what the rest of the "pure conservatives" do....

"voting for that RINO amnesty-loving Jeb". :D

Things will change once the debates begin. Jeb is hype, it's not happening.

The stealth campaign to create a demand for something no one wants is doomed to failure.

Yeah, heard the same thing about Romney in 2011.

    :)

BTW, ALL Jeb has to do in the GOP Debates is appear sane and reasonable....the other candidates will be fighting to "out-Trump Trump", but it won't work.

    - - - Updated - - -

Let me guess....in 2011, you were saying

"Nobody wants that RINO Romney. Romneycare will doom him from ever getting the GOP Nomination"?

Different year. Different candidates. Different issues. The Bush name is poison.
Your frequent threads trying to create a demand for something no one wants stinks of desperation.

Bush may get some votes from Chamber of Commerce types but that's about all. No one wants another Bush in office.

    Notice you couldn't deny it?

BTW, I saved your post above. Mind if I re-post it one year from today? (So I can tell the Mods you gave your permission)

If we put Jeb out as our Nominee, we lose even if we win the general elections. He is a fraud!
Perhaps he better run for President of Mexico.

Are you claiming Jeb Bush will wind up the republican nominee?

If yes then I will bet my place here you are wrong. If I am right, and Bush is rejected, you leave this site.
If wrong I will leave. How about that? Can you be trusted at all?

The problem is that progressivism does not require consistency and principles in order to function. It's simply an ideology built around political victory. Therefore, I would believe some, if not most progressives, to be incapable of honoring such an arrangement. If they lose, they simply break their word. If they win, they hold principled conservatives to their word. They have nothing to lose in this situation.

Yet here in Texas you can't find too many people who will even admit they might vote for him. Obviously it doesn't matter what the people say or want, once the parties decide who they want all the polls show them to be the favorites. The sheeple then fall in line.

I absolutely agree and don't expect such a bet to be taken or honored if lost.

Yep this is the attitude of most staunch republicans and the real conservatives. How is he even considered a tangible candidate?

Which is why I'd advise against making such an agreement. You have to remember, some of the people posting here are doing so for financial reasons, either directly or indirectly. The success of the Democrat Party has a lot of money on the line for a lot of people.

I actually like Romney, in spite of ideological differences. Can't say the same for Jeb.

I would only take the bet if the mods would guarantee the outcome. It doesn't seem likely.

For the most part I won't preparing for many of your predictions to come true, Cap'n.

It should come as no surprise that some Republicans will defend any of their candidates against the attacks of their Democratic rivals - Dems do likewise - but here's a prediction for you: Bush won't get the nomination. Scott Walker will.

This is why talking about positions at this pace in the campaigns may be fun but it is pretty pointless. Look at Bolshevik Bernie - he may be "surging" in New Hampshire and Iowa right now but Clinton will inevitably be crowned by the Party and the neo-socialist "progressive" base will obediently vote for that One Percenter Wall Street crony in the general election. :)

If Jeb were to win the nomination, it would 100% guarantee I vote for the Libertarian Candidate... which I do most the time anyways.

The Republican Party Establishment: McConnell, Boehner, Bush, Graham, etc.... are worthless and harmful to the nation.

They (the establishment republicans) are the back up team the elites have in case the first team (democrats) loses.
Bush, Boehner, etc. are working on the same goals as Clinton and Obama. They are just taking their time a bit more and packaged slightly differently.

    You got a bet.

    I can't lose.

Either it's Jeb...the ONLY candidate polls show even comes close to Hillary. The Candidate the RNC and the Big Donors want. And you leave.

Or it's Walker or some other loser....and Hillary wins 45 States. And I'll be happy to leave this site for another and just "lurk" to watch you guys go bananas for another 8 years.

Make the same bet with me, Brewskier. Let's see who welshs if it's not Jeb.....or who welshs if it IS Jeb.

Oh, and no sock-puppet accounts. (i.e. new accounts under different names) The perp would easily expose himself quickly in a few posts.

    Do we have a bet???

    - - - Updated - - -

Nope. Plus PF uses IP addresses for its accounts.

How about take my bet as well?

    - - - Updated - - -

PM the Mods.....tell them we both agree to "permanent banning" depending on the outcome of the bet.

    I'll support you on that.

    - - - Updated - - -

    For the record, Talon....

November 2016....it's Jeb versus Hillary. What will you do? "Vote Libertarian and never defend or support Jeb"?

Or do the "not vote for Hillary" dodge...which means you'll be supporting Jeb?

I'll take the bet provided the mods enforce the penalties, as stipulated.

Contact the Mods via PM. Tell them we have a wager. If Jeb is NOT the 2016 GOP Nominee for President, they can permanently BAN me from PF.

If Jeb IS the 2016 GOP Nominee for President, they get to permanently BAN YOU from PF.

Bet to be determined the night of the Republican Convention in July 2016 where it is made official.

Tell them to contact me and I'll agree.
