I'm not sure what to make of this, 2 menatally ill civilians that crossed over, Hamas denies he has them, saying they held him at first, questioned him, figured he was not a soldier but a civilian - and let him go throu a tunnel.....because we all know how much they care for Israeli civilian lives...

He simply climbed the fence, when he touched it the soldiers jumped to the location, they saw him on the other side shouting at him, if it was the other way around the soldiers would have got him on the Israeli side but once there they can't do anything.

What your comment got to do with the story ? is Palywood suggesting he was thrown to the other side ? :)

Two non-Semitic Jews are captured by Semitic Palestinians whose ancestors were the original Israelites.

JERUSALEM — Usually people are desperate to leave Gaza. But an African-born Israeli named Avraham Mangisto decided to slip across the border fence, bristling with high-tech sensors and protected by remote-controlled machine guns, and enter the Gaza Strip last year.

That was 10 months ago. His fate is unknown, though Israel says he is likely being held by armed Palestinian factions.

News of his puzzling disappearance has been officially suppressed in the Israeli media until now under a gag order by the military censor. Israel and the Islamist militant group Hamas, which controls the coastal enclave, fought a brutal 50-day war last summer that ended in August. Mangisto entered Gaza the following month.

Israeli soldiers found he had left a suitcase behind on the beach near the fence. It contained a Hebrew bible.

Mangisto, 26, is an Ethiopian Israeli, and family members charged that his disappearance and possible capture by Hamas would have been treated far differently if Mangisto were not African. In recent months, Ethiopians have staged large demonstrations to protest what they call racist treatment by Israeli police and society.

Israeli media reported on the case for the first time on Thursday, revealing that Israeli officials, through intermediaries, have been seeking information about Mangisto’s whereabouts for months.

The Israeli military’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories said “according to credible intelligence” Mangisto is being held “against his will” by Hamas.

Hamas officials in Gaza have declined comment.

“Israel has appealed to international and regional interlocutors to demand his immediate release and verify his well-being,” the government said in a statement.

Israeli President Reuven Rivlin said Thursday: “This is a humanitarian matter and I expect those holding him to treat him properly and to return him in full health.”

Israeli officials also revealed that a second Israeli citizen, an Arab, was being held in Gaza. The government declined to provide details.

    continued.

    Very strange story.

I remember another similar case of an "anti - Israeli" - Israeli weird "peace" activist that reached Egypt and was caught, charged with spying, don't remember what happened to him...
