    is it true, Russian soldiers eat horrible?

    There is no enough bread, meat, milk, soup.

    Russia has an economy smaller Italy, but they want to compete militarily with the U.S. and China.

    The math doesn't work. It wouldn't be surprising if Russian soldiers didn't eat well.

    I'm reservist and I had one month military training at 1995. At that time Russia was weak an poor but I had no problems with eat.
    I do not think moderm russian soldiers are hungry :)

    I've no data - nor has anyone else on this thread - but you could be right.

    I've heard that they organize their economy according to a theory called "capitalism", which works fine in theory but doesn't deliver in practice.

    I have no blog here. Do you have your own opinion or you just rely on Press?
    Since I have graduated St.Petersburg state University I think it is unworthy to use that terminology.
    When I need to know what is going on I always use statistics - no matter is it Rosstat or Bureau of Labour Statistics ( US ) - BLS or American Houshold Survey - AHS or Eurostat. I was taught of that and I know how to use statistics and how to interpret it.

    That's what Google gave me when I looked - a comparison of various armies' combat rations.

    And, of course, there's not much difference - any more than there's a lot of difference between their boots, assault rifles, tents, etc.

    What's served up by the catering corps, to conscripts doing basic training, doesn't seem to have left much of a footfall on the internet for any army, Russian or otherwise.

    I'm guessing that this is because "almost all soldiers in almost all armies subsist on meat, potatoes or rice and root vegetables - blandly seasoned and indifferently cooked" is not news.
