Donald Trump’s press conference in Dubuque, Iowa went off the rails fast on Tuesday night when Univision anchor Jorge Ramos started questioning the candidate even though he had not been specifically called on by him.

“Excuse me, sit down, you weren’t called. Sit down!” Trump shouted at Ramos as he protested, “I have the right to ask a question.”

“No you don’t, go back to Univision,” Trump replied, attempting to call on another reporter in the room. At that point, security physically removed Ramos from the room.

Moments later, another reporter confronted Trump about Ramos’ removal. “I don’t believe I ever met him, except he started screaming and I didn’t escort him out, you’ll have to talk to security,” Trump said. “Certainly he wasn’t chosen. I chose you and you’re asking me questions. He just stands up and starts screaming so, you know, maybe he’s at fault, also.”

“I don’t even know where he is,” he added. “I don’t mind if he doesn’t come back, frankly.” Later, when another reporter asked Trump why he won’t take “tough questions,” he referred to Ramos as “obviously a very emotional person.”

On CNN last night, Ramos accused Trump of “spreading hate” with his immigration comments, asking, “How is he going to deport 11 million people? By bus? By plane? Is he going to bring the army to do that? Can you imagine the human rights violations that would create?”

Ramos later returned to the press conference room where he was able to confront Trump directly.

Update- 8:25 pm EST: Fusion CEO and President of News for Univision Isaac Lee responded in this short statement:

“We’d love for Mr. Trump to sit down for an in-depth interview with Jorge to talk about the specifics of his proposals.”

The jerk is not a reporter or journalists he is a political advocate playing one. He was rude to everyone there and should be banned from the campaign. When ever he is on FOX he does the same thing.

Another idiot who doesn't know the difference between immigration and ILLEGAL immigration. One is acceptable, the other is financially impossible to sustain. Removing them is cost effective and actually cheaper than allowing the criminal activity to continue. So how is this racial again?

I'm still waiting for the Black Lives Matter people to show up at one of the Donald's rallies. That would be great.

    1. Donald Trump will not be the Republican nominee.
    2. DemocraticUnderground is a (*)(*)(*)(*) website.

If the guy was being rude and disruptive, I can't say I blame Trump for what he said or his security for removing him. And it seems they allowed him back in later.

He wasn't being disruptive but casually posed a valid question.

He was allowed back in when Trump's advisers said he better do so or lose face.

    1) How do you know if he won't be GOP nominee?

    2) Dunno what you said about DU since it was deleted. I've had my share of troubles with them but that link was accurate.

What is so amazing how the public have not boycotted Trump's businesses. In other cases involving racial attacks by prominent individuals immediately we'll see how their business starts to go down because the public will launch aggressive campaigns against them and yet here we have Trump who have openly and publicly attacked Hispanics, Chinese, women and immigrants still getting away with it!

Actually, if you watch the exchange, Ramos was being rude. He constantly interrupted while Trump was trying to give other reporters an opportunity to ask questions.

Trump did the right thing in giving Ramos a little bit of time out in the corner. In our world of over the top political correctness, it's about time that blow hard interrupting behavior is dealt with appropriately. It was refreshing to see.

All that was shown on the local Fox network was Trump ignoring him while pointing at others near him.

    Where's the fairness in that?

After all, it's the right wingers who claim to always be open minded and unprejudiced.

Trump was not ignoring Ramos. He told Ramos to sit down, be quiet, and wait to be called. It's fair because it was Trump's press conference. He makes the rules. No single reporter has the right to dominate the floor at the expense of everyone else. Ramos was trying to pontificate, and Trump called him on it. Ramos was only escorted out when it was clear he wouldn't pull in his rude behavior and act with the least bit of maturity.

What's lost is that Ramos was allowed back in, and Trump gave him more time than anyone else. I don't know how Trump could have been more open minded in his approach.

He stood up and started asking questions without being called on and he refused to sit down when Trump told him to. Trump tried to call on some other people, but he just kept asking questions. That is disruptive.

He has said that he will start accepting large donations. That tells me that he is not willing to spend too much of his own money. As a result, he will probably drop out or he will start using donations to fund his campaign, which would destroy his populist appeal.

The image you posted was from DemocraticUnderground. It says that in the lower right-hand corner and the link also says it.

He stood up because Trump knew who he was and deliberately bypassed him.

You would have done the same.

You're making wild assumptions you have no way of knowing to be true. The evidence says you're wrong. If Trump wanted to bypass Ramos, he wouldn't have been allowed back in, and then give him more time than anyone else.

If anything, Trump likes to toy with one trick ponies like Ramos. Kind of like playing with a bug under a hot magnifying glass. But Trump was trying to be fair and give all reporters a chance to be heard. By any reasonable definition, Trump handled things well.

Univision doesn't represent Americans or legal voters so why would any candidate pay any attention to Univision who represents the Mexican government and illegal aliens ?

I'm sure the Democrat candidates will acknowledge Univion, but the Democrats need the illegal alien votes at the polls to win elections.

Trump had just walked up to the podium to take his first question and picked the journalist who was directly in front of him.

Does that mean that Trump bypassed the other 80 or so journalist who were also in the room at the time ?

Ramos tried to become the story and apparently he succeeded on numerous networks. It was Ramos's job to report the story, not to become the story. All he had to do was wait for his turn and he could ask his questions. Every other reporter in the room did exactly that except Ramos who very much wanted the confrontation and to become the headlines.

To be honest, if I was Trump I would not have allowed him to return. Either follow the existing press conference etiquette or risk being asked to leave. What makes Ramos so special, his vendetta?

What? Do you know what you're talking about?

Univision is a Texas news source - it is every bit American as anyone in this forum.

Every candidate who have won in recent elections got the Hispanic vote and only legals can do so.

Spanish was Texas's official language for over 200 years before English was spoken in it. In a few more years it will be the majority language again.

Please don't warn us that America is doomed.

One common language is the glue that holds a diverse nation together.

Those who don't want to assimiulate and adopt English as the language to be spoken in America are enemies of the state.

You're wrong, of course. It didn't go off the rails. Trump kept it ON the rails. The fool was trying to speak over someone else.

Try talking over someone that's been called upon to speak and see how far you get. Try it in school. Try it in church. Try it in court.

    Trump pwns another one.
