When you have an Administration that has created a hostile environment for law enforcement, this is the result... Murder Rates Rising Sharply in Many U.S. Cities: MILWAUKEE — Cities across the nation are seeing a startling rise in murders after years of declines, and few places have witnessed a shift as precipitous as this city. With the summer not yet over, 104 people have been killed this year — after 86 homicides in all of 2014. More than 30 other cities have also reported increases in violence from a year ago. In New Orleans, 120 people had been killed by late August, compared with 98 during the same period a year earlier. In Baltimore, homicides had hit 215, up from 138 at the same point in 2014. In Washington, the toll was 105, compared with 73 people a year ago. And in St. Louis, 136 people had been killed this year, a 60 percent rise from the 85 murders the city had by the same time last year. Law enforcement experts say disparate factors are at play in different cities, though no one is claiming to know for sure why murder rates are climbing. Some officials say intense national scrutiny of the use of force by the police has made officers less aggressive and emboldened criminals, though many experts dispute that theory. Louisiana? Maryland?? Republican governors. And when the President tries to intervene such as in Texas the Republican governor threatens to call out the National Guard to stop him.
This is what happens when you have a president that doesn't care about law and order. Not only does he not care, he promotes "acting out" against "the man".
Quite an interesting question. I had a look at some 50 links concerning numbers and trends. What was unknown to myself is that the firearm related homicide rate of white-on-white is 1.9 per 100 000 in the USA and that there are European countries coming close to that value. The black-on-black homicide rate is 15.9 per 100 000, which is worse than Uganda and Congo. That in all (except one) publications was seen as a matter of concern and also the major reason for the country wide increase of homicide rates. What I found most interesting was the last comment, written by a black civil rights activist. Instead of caring for his own people he called the statistics "snake oil" and "objected", that even when 94% of blacks are shot by blacks, also 84% of white people are shot by whites ( the murder rate per 100 000 being ten times higher in black-on- black shootings seemed to be no matter of concern). As the most "intelligent" proposal to solve the problem he suggested not to calculate statistics on skin color, but on social situation and income, quoting Great Britain as an example, where it is not allowed tto reveal the race of a murderer (with 0,1 overall homicides per 100 000, which seems to make it impossible for numbers to be broken down further into the method of murder, that is also not necessary). In this article "solution" of the "black-on-black-crime" is seen in mishandling statistics, mislabeling variables and introducing speech codes, the universal power tool of the extreme left. With such a problem awareness it is not necessary to speak about solutions - there will be none. http://www.commdiginews.com/politic...-need-to-confront-black-on-black-crime-21424/ http://www.theroot.com/articles/cul...goes_against_the_false_media_narrative.1.html
One of the side effects of the BLM campaign. If I was a white cop I would not arrrest a black, not worth losing your job and going to prison.
You would certainly go slow, follow all the rules to the letter and be very careful. Blacks whined about the cocaine epidemic and were OK with mandatory sentencing for crack, till they weren't anymore and then started blaming Whitey and racism for the incarceration rates.
I blame the war on drugs, funneling billions into gangs "Murder rate has dropped by 66% in Colorado since they legalized marijuana" http://thelibertarianrepublic.com/crime-dropped-66-colorado-since-legalized-marijuana/ .
agree, I do not support a prohibition on guns either, every free American that wants a gun should be allowed to own them no one should be denied the right to protect their homes and families or to put food on the table by hunting if someone commits a crime with a gun, a knife, a fork.... then you arrest them, you do not arrest them just for owning the tool .
Yep. That's what they do with drunk drivers. They do not blame car makers or alcohol producers/bottlers.
The lack of strict gun control laws is the main culprit for the rise of murders in America. The President wants strict gun control laws but Congress stymies all the time.
so we have one thread saying "Murder Rates Up....Thanks Obama Administration! " "Murder Rates Down....Gun Ownership up" funny how stats can say whatever someone wants them to say
We can also thank Obama and Holder for the bad attitudes toward law enforcement, and the violence that comes along with said attitudes.
