Is it as good as the meals in aircraft carriers?

Not sure, never been on a naval vessel but I will say that Army chow halls have gotten MUCH better over the past few years. Gone are the days of cafeteria slop meals. Many of the dining facilities have been modernized with various different sections, like a mall food court. Last time I went in a chow hall there was a short order line for burgers and hotdogs, a normal line for whatever was on the menu for the day, a pizza line, a subway sandwich line, and a chinese food line.

At least once a week they would have a BBQ day where they would grill up ribs and chicken. It was pretty good. Plus a wide selection of desserts were always available.

Army has definitely come a long way in making good chow hall food. Thats in garrison though. Deployed it's a different story, depending on where you are you may have anything from a nice dining facility to eating MRE's for months in a tiny outpost with no running water...
