It's been said on this board many times that eventually people are going to get fed up over the BLM terrorist demands and it seems like it's happening. It's encouraging that this is actually happening on a notable college campus rather than some anonymous blog or Facebook page where it would not get noticed.

Now it seems there are several choices Princeton's president can make; he can appease the students, he can chastise them for being intolerant or even racist, or he can do nothing. It would seem that the last 2 choices might spur this group to escalate the matter - that is, if they have the guts.

In the name of equality and tolerance I hope these students succeed.

Kuddos to these young people. I hope they receive as much media attention as the other group. It saddens me when this young generation as a whole is thought of in a negative way because of the actions of some. As a parent of two sons ages 24 and 22, I know this is not the truth. There are some really great young people just going about living their lives and contrubiting to society in many positive ways. They just usually don't get publicity.

why do I have the feeling the president of princeton will lose no sleep brushing this aside and dismissing it as something that will just go away... while if it were the black lives matter group sending messages, well lets be honest it wouldn't sound so reasonable to request a meeting, they would just go take over his office and facilities until their demands are met which would cause him to lose sleep because now he would be worried about being labeled racist and discriminatory... I just got a feeling this will be brushed aside because he doesn't expect the whites to do anything that will cause him any discomfort or problems... the squeaky wheel gets the grease, not the one that just shows up and does its job without complaint... imagine the back lash from the first university that says "no" to BLM... jesse jackson surely will arrive for "free speech"...

He had better not dismiss this group. The peaceful students will find another place to pursue their education and Princeton will be left with the animals. Their reputation will be shot.

I've been saying ever since this BLM garbage began that employers should reject any applicant with degrees from the colleges/universities that allow this rabid terrorism to infest it's halls.

    I'm certainly never hiring them.

I would not want to be in the shoes of Princeton President Eisgruber because it is going to be a tough decision he is going to have to make that is not going to make everyone happy.

It appears to be a whining attempt to prevent free speech of BLM movement. These Princeton Open Campus Coalition people want freedom of speech, but want to prevent BLM having freedom of speech.

The quickest way to shut up a Liberal is to cut off the money. Of course, that won't happen under ObaMao. Yank the BLM scholarships. That'll shut 'em up. If you want to shut the school down with foolish ignorant protests then do it on your own dime. Truman would have drafted them!!

Anarchy isn't free speech, it's terrorism. Domestic terrorism at its finest. You'd think that we would have dealt with these domestic terrorists accordingly but because they're aligned with certain agendas rather than others, we'll just brush it aside lol.

Ok well first, you should educate yourself on what the legal scope of freedom of speech actually is.

Second, even if you extend the protection of freedom of speech to private campuses it still would never protect the harassment, intimidation, threats, and physical violence being committed by the domestic terrorist group BLM.

Freedom of speech is not demonstrated by flash mobbing a library, disrupting study, forcing White students to stand up against walls while groups of belligerent affirmative action Negros and LSDs shout racist insults into their faces with megaphones.

Freedom of speech is not demonstrated by standing in the halls of student housing pushing people back inside their dorms ordering them to change their color of their shirts and threatening them with violence when they're don't.

Freedom of speech is not demonstrated by committing assault on students who have every right to be on public campus grounds.

Freedom of speech is not demonstrated by preventing students from obtaining the education they have worked and paid for.

Amazing how few liberals actually know the difference. Anarchy, which is death and destruction is not protected free speech, yet the same liberal loons have audacity to say the "TEA Party" are terrorists, when the fact is, they have never had any violence or destruction

Agree or disagree with the TEA Party's politics, they do know how to protest peacefully

Well said, but sadly there are insane people on this forum that will never agree with law and order, which by it's definition is terrorism

Try actually reading what they wrote..

"This dialogue is necessary because many students have shared with us that they are afraid to state publicly their opinions on recent events for fear of being vilified, slandered, and subjected to hatred, either by fellow students or faculty. Many who questioned the protest were labeled racist, and black students who expressed disagreement with the protesters were called “white sympathizers” and were told they were “not black.” We, the Princeton Open Campus Coalition, refuse to let our peers be intimidated or bullied into silence on these–or any–important matters."

BLM is trying to bully people not this group.

Its time for Alumni and students to push back against BLM's thuggish tactics of intimidation, silencing dissent, and segregation on college campuses.

I hate PC thugs as much as anyone, but this increasing trend towards labeling anything you don't like as "terrorism" is disturbing.

And both "sides" are guilty of this. Democrats labeling right-wing militias and gun rights activists as "terrorists" and Republicans labeling left-wing militants and protesters "terrorists".

That word/concept was supposed to be reserved for a very specific subset of acts and organizations, namely, intentional violent attacks on civilian non-combatants as a means of intimidating a society into altering its way of life.

This really needs to stop. BLM may be a nuisance, may be obnoxious, may even be militant, but they are hardly "terrorists".

That's not what it sounds like at all. If anyone is trying to restrict freedom of speech, it's the PC thugs in BLM who demand "safe spaces" and emotional security blankets.

BLM are not anarchists, nor is anarchy "terrorism". It is a political philosophy that eschews rulers, not rules. But as long as we're talking about "terrorism", why don't we discuss the millions of innocent people who have been killed by central governments, to include the US government?

You can't just label things you don't like "terrorism", even if it's violent, otherwise the term becomes completely meaningless and subjective, which seems to be the case now.

    Ha, bring it on.

Edit: unless, of course, you are saying that they would be literally killed for debating by BLM thugs, in which case, you might have a point.

Never happen ! First they will be shouted down before getting to the office .
Second , Eisgruber knows any meeting will result in violence by BLM group .
Third , the notion of any civil discussion is utter nonsense when dealing with bully's and outrageous demands , what is there to discuss ? Take away their aid and suspend the bully's !
Last , get back to studying and hope the administrators do their job and rid the university of these foolish distractions .
