I’ve never been to Moscow. But I’ve been to New York and Los Angeles few times. Wasted many years of my life travelling by London Underground.
I’ve got to admit. I’m astonished. I thought Russkies haven’t got the money to buy food. Just look at it my dear American friends. Aren’t you embarrassed? Some catching up to do.

Route plans and engineering design expertise for building the Moscow metro were supplied by-wait for it-staff from the London Underground!

Well thank goodness for nice terminals after all this GUY from the U.K. who was finally granted access to take pictures when they were empty should have just waited a few more months when the Russian economy collapses and then when most people no longer have JOBS to go to....he can get all the unfettered access he wants!!

Besides....ANYTHING is better than driving the MKAD!!!

Beautiful! Those photos demonstrate that metro travel in Russia is a luxury.

Grand Central Station is beautiful as well but it does not matter when everyone is stacked in these halls like sardine.

Mass transit systems are designed to cope with sardines. Some, like London's ancient Victorian Underground, can barely cope. You really don't want to travel on it during rush hour. I did so for years and it wasn't a pleasant experience!

Wow a thread on extolling the virtues of the Moscow subway system. Well what next? I have photos of Montreal and Toronto subways. Do we compare size and length to see whose is bigger?

Well may I go on the record and say Silver can engage in such an exercise but its futile. Canada's national emblem is the BEAVER, a cute, brown, hairy beaver.

Bah. Compare your sizes- some of us are only concerned about beavers.

Sorry, but I'm not moving to Moscow. Beautiful, but do not tell the real story. I'll take MetroNorth over that any day.

*Shrug*. Yep, they're pretty. Not sure what that has to do with anything. Both dictators and democracies are capable of building monuments to themselves.

I mean, should we think life in Iraq under Saddam Hussein was great because he built grand palaces and massive monuments?

Should we think life under Hitler was awesome because he built the Autobahn, Nuremberg rally grounds, and other such things?

From time to time you’ve got to show some pictures to those poor people across the pond who don’t travel much around the world. Correct me if I’m wrong, Americans are the least travelled people in the western world. No? To make matters worse their media is completely controlled by 5 corporations. Needless to say that those 5 corporations create and completely control the narrative. As a result those poor souls miss out on many good things in the world. I'm just doing them a favour.

It's very generous of you. I wonder if they will appreciate the effort you've made on their behalf?

You are wrong, the medias are controlled by six corporations...and what they tell us has to be true because they are all repeating what the government tells them to say...word by word.

As for beauty, has anyone ever bothered to look at some of the reception rooms in the Kremlin?

What a poor country Russia is?

When the Tsarina Alexandra visited her grandmother Queen Victoria, she was shocked at how small everything was in comparison.

But it seems as though it is Europe that is going down the drain. Funny that.

Which makes one wonder if Washington's intent was to destroy the EU more than Russia because oddly enough it seems trade between the US and Moscow is business as usual, but the EU lost billions with the sanctions...and which it will never regain now that Russia has established a self sufficiency in food products.

The rest of Russia is impoverished to make Moscow look good. The same thing happens in France where the whole country subsidizes Paris.

The U.S. has always tried to allow local cities keep their money, so Utah doesn't subsidize New York.

To take it a step further, Americans generally believe individuals should be able to keep what they earn, so they can take care of their own families and pay for houses, cars, vacations, retirement, travel, etc. Americans don't like to pay taxes to the government so the government can build nice buildings.

Let them eat Cake....were the words that cost some aristocrats their heads right??

Well in Russia....you have a Leader pretending to be a Closet Democratic Communist who with his fellow 110 Buddies owns over 35% of all Russian Wealth.

Check out a place called PUTIN'S PALACE.

Never in the history of Humanity have 111 People owned over 35% of the total wealth of about 150 Million people!!!

Not even during the DARK AGES!!!
