I have a Mac Mini that's about 4 years old. I have an iphone 6. My itunes will not connect my device, because the device requires a newer version of itunes. Planned obsolescence is a beeeeotch.

Should I buy a new Mac, or can I upgrade this one to get a new OS, more memory, and/or processor that will enable me to stay current?

    Thanks in advance!

I would upgrade memory and hard drives. Digital drives help.

Computer memory manufacturers have the upper hand on pricing at the moment...

Macs are pretty much what you see is what you get. You can't really upgrade a mac.

I'd honestly suggest a PC tower if your looking to be able to upgrade in the future as you can just buy whichever part you want to upgrade seperately and usually you can plan out major upgrades far in advance.

Can't you just update itunes on a 4 year old Mac Mini? I know I can update itunes on a 4-year old cheap HP laptop that runs Windows 7.

You should always upgrade to the latest thing. It lets the government track you better. ;)
