Well, it seems that Nixon's warning is coming true.....he had warned the GOP about letting the fringe, extreme elements of conservative politics get a main stream foot hold into the GOP's machinations on the public forum. Back then, he was warning against using the religious right (i.e., Falwell, etc.) to bolster voting blocks. But as we've seen over the years, the religious right has waned somewhat...to be replaced by the new conservatives and then the Tea Party....with rabid libertarians chomping at the sidelines. This has resulted in the recent clown show of the GOP Presidential Nominee debates. And the crap that's floated to the top is Donald Trump! But wait, there's Gov. Kasich, the more "reasonable" and sane of the bunch. Will the GOP have some type of coupe to put Kasich in the race against the Dem nominee (which seems to be an anointed Hillary)? But let's remember this, folks; the GOP TRADITIONALLY does better in low voter turn out. And Trump is a polarizing figure that has EVERYONE up in arms, which translates to large voter turn out DESPITE previous GOP actions in various states to suppress the vote. So even IF Trump becomes the GOP candidate for the Presidency, I suspect he is going to get his butt handed to him worse than the Obama or Clinton victories in the past. This could get interesting to watch!
