The entire county is in chaos.

And it is a highly emotional experience to be quite honest.

Everyone knows someone who works at the airport.

A lot of young people work on the check-ins.

My lil' sister works in the bombed terminal as well, she just went on a break 5 minutes before the first bomb went off.

This entire thing is coming really close. Several friends have parents, husband and wives working at the arport as well. All are safe.

And I wonder what our answer is going to be -- seriously, what can we do?

Not fight these mo'fckers in Syria?

    Seriously?!

Is it time some people get a black bag pulled over their face and just dissappear?

    I don't know? I hope not.

How can open societies fight these things?

    I don't know.

The solution is to bring in at least 1 million more "refufees" and adopt Sharia law in Brussels. Just resolve that the war was lost before it is fought. Since a lost war means rape and pillage then just do what Germany has done and skip the war and turn over your women for rape. Problem solved the pacisfist way.

Western and Northern Europe already lost the war they wouldn't fight - so then just accept the consequences.

A meeting definitely will solve things.

You ask what can we do, and I've highlighted the only thing we can do. But we won't because a) our masters don't have the guts and b) the enemy inside/useful idiots liberati would go ballistic.

It is up to France, Belgium and Europe to come up with an ingenious solution. One that works on the long term. The tricky part is most of these radical Muslims are Belgian/French-born, 2nd and 3rd generation. They are embedded into Belgian society. The task of identifying the extremists before it's too late is next to impossible. Accounts of past attacks say they tend to be educated, calm, articulate and that they behave like respectable citizens prior to their suicide attacks.

Hopefully Bashaar al Assad will regain control of his country with the help of Russia. John Kerry visited Moscow today. They seem to be up to something.

I don't think the political classes have the faintest idea how dire it is; by the time the penny drops in their small brains that a serious situation demands serious remedial measures to counter it, it'll be too late. This is how bureaucrats operate - they do nothing in the hope that it will all 'go away'. It's in their DNA.

No, thats not right at all. Most of these terrorist aren´t full integrated in the belgian society. The Problem is that over years nothing was done to integrate the migrants and there following generations. A lot of migrants in beligum don´t have any prospects to get a job, earn money on legal ways or be a part of the democratic society. Reasons for this are a miserable integration plan of the political leaders and the ignoration of a more and more radical part under the muslims in Beligum. Sure, most of them are democrats and live a liberal life, but nowhere are more people bad integrated as in belgium and france. Some of them don´t speak french, live in a homogenious community and don´t have any contacts to other people which don´t follow the radical islam.

And the answer of the terror shouldn´t be war - the war in iraq is one of the reasons why we have a so strong IS and a broad mass of terrorist in the EU and otherwhere. Important for the fight against islamic terrorist are open, friendly and democratic societys which take every democratic person into his frame. If we push muslims out of our society, make war in syria or other countries, we support the IS and other terror-groups around the world. Muslims would be confrontated with bad feelings, with hate and so they turn one´s back to the democratic society. Then we have more problems as we have at the moment.

Fast solutions do not exist. We have to live with the feelings of terrorism in Europe and we only can hope, that the fighters in syria (Kurds, Syrians, Iraqs,...) can push back IS so fast as possible. We, as Europeans, doesn´t have the right, to get into this conflict - only there is a good strategy which is aligned with the alliances in syria. The only thing we can do is to open the borders for refugees and help this people - so we can show that europe is an democratic and human continent which helps people and don´t push them out of the own borders. With the actual advance, we support the IS and create a pic of an unhuman europe, so that the risk is rising, more and more refugees could collaborate with terrorist and enemies of the democratic system of the nation states of europe!

Muslims who oppose the west should just be kicked out. Indeed there should actually be a ceremony that before being taken onto a plane in handcuffs each muslim should be bent over and ceremonially kicked up the arse by either a Mayor or other ceremonial official or perhaps a school child who has won a competetion.

emotional that is for sure they are stil broadcasting it on the news daily about things they are doing and so on.
personally i dont know anybody that works at the airport and i have a habbit of staying out of brussels in general considering i find most of it a dirty and dangerous city compared to ghent and flanders in general.
and the traffic is a nightmare to.

the city and surroundings has been rotting for a while now though.
when your city has 23-25% muslims in it with 70-80% or higher poor and stuck in ghetto's living off state welfare and crime and without proper intergration like molenbeek or other regions near and in brussels then you just know its a matter of time before they start blowing stuff up,
though with 23-25% pop they might take a ton of muslims to for a change.

in the end though this is a direct result of decades not just this single syrian civil war,
belgium bombing isis makes fairly little difference in the grand scale of things and it would probably help more to instead recognize assad again and support him reclaim his land, on the condition that he keeps any belgium he captures in batle in prison for life in syria(atleast those fighting for isis & other terrorists),
having them dead or stuck in syria for life would be the best outcome for us in the end, and it might be a good idea to just allow and even encourage people to go support isis if they want to to get rid of those extremists to.

but then again if it was me i would even send those extremists in that want to go for free, even pay the planeticket to get rid of them, in the end the ticket is cheaper then the money they get each money to survive in belgium anyway(dont forget to take that away when he leaves though)
then cooperate and tell assad & co where he is and where to aim.

then again glad to hear your lil sister was ok atleast, i do know a girl that got very lucky at the subway that day to,
she left the train the station before the place of the explosion from what i heard.

and on a sidenote, the typical belgium political circus started again
flemish side suggested the merging of all 6 police zones in brussels to make a more efficient policy against those terrorists
the walloons instantly throw it off the table as unspeakable, because they fear there might be some flemish motive behind it

    - - - Updated - - -

since the bombing in belgium immigrants have to sign some kind of statement now for intergration and things like that
refusal to sign it means automatic refusal of permit to stay i believe

or atleast there was talk about it last week
