Years ago Petraeus tried to bomb his alleged whereabouts, then invited him in for a friendly chat, and Mookie refused the invitation.

Now he apparently remains a Mid-Eastern political leader who has rejected US carrots and sticks and so far lives to tell about it.

Muqtada al-Sadr is a great hero of Iraqi people. He comes from a family that historically resisted the brutal fascist Saddam regime and paid the ultimate price for their dissent. When America invaded in 2003, their toppling of Saddam was greatly appreciated. But as time went on, the Iraqi people demanded the Americans depart. Muqtada was the one who led that movement and the Mahdi Army which resisted American occupation of Iraq. Muqtada is only a terrorist because he resisted American occupation? The truth is Muqtada is not a terrorist but a hero of his people, a respected religious leader who comes from a tradition that courageously fights for the underdog and "fights the power"
