There may exist many valid reasons to keep abortion from being made illegal, but “a woman’s right” is not one of them. Let’s be completely upfront and honest, there is no “right” to have an abortion (however so much some feminists insist).

Now of course people should generally have the right to make decisions when it comes to matters concerning their own bodies; but pregnancy is a very unique situation. It’s hard think of another situation where the existence of two people are so intertwined. (maybe in the case of conjoined twins... )

When you make decisions that take away from someone else’s rights, you cease to have the absolute unfettered innate right to make those decisions. And it doesn’t stop there. There are all sorts of other things people are not allowed to do under the law: drive without a seatbelt, use drugs, fly without a license. Why would obtaining an abortion be any different? You say “it’s my body”, but I’m not allowed to perform surgery on your body, even if you consent and have been given full disclosure that I did not go to medical school. In fact, medical care is so heavily regulated right now, and they’re even implementing price setting schemes and telling you what type of insurance you have to buy. If it’s your body why aren’t you allowed to put drugs into it? If it’s your body why are you not allowed to get an abortion at 8 months into the pregnancy? It should be your choice, right? I find the whole concept that abortion is a right just ridiculous, when we put it into context with everything else.

In summary, there is NO right to have an abortion! It's just a made up concept to justify abortion and the pro-choice position.

There are not two people involved in a pregnancy, just the woman and a fetus which isn't a person.

IF a fetus was deemed a person it would have the same rights AND restrictions of other people, it could NOT use another's body to sustain it's life.

You say women don't have a right to abortion but claim a fetus should have "super" rights no one else has....

No, that's not true. Killing out of pure self defense is not justified when it involves the death of an innocent bystander who did not intentionally make the choice to put themselves in that situation. The fetus isn't going to go on to insert itself into another woman after the pregnancy is over, so it is not like the woman is protecting anyone else by getting the abortion.

A fetus, as you have been told many times, is not a bystander , it is the attacker. Intentions don't matter if that person is harming someone else.

The woman is protecting herself by getting an abortion. She, like you, has that right.

"There is no right to have an abortion '

there is no right to force another person to be your host, so yes, a person has the right to stop you if you try to make them your host... the same woudl apply to a fetus

So why wouldn't society also have the right to intervene here, isn't the woman trying to get an abortion an attacker too?

And society is protecting the unborn child by trying to stop her from getting an abortion. How is that so different?

And a human being growing inside the woman has rights too, just like you, me, or the woman who is pregnant.
There are no individual rights possible without that most fundamental right of all—the right to life. You kill the fetus, you permanently take away any right to choose it will ever have. Talk about taking away individual choice!

Why would a woman's right to control her boddy trump the life of someone else? Why would the woman's right to control her body extend to exerting control over someone else's body?

A woman has as much right to control her fetus as a mother has to make parental decisions controlling the life of her 16-month-old toddler; she doesn't have the right to make decisions that are clearly not in her child's best interests, this includes abortion.

Does a man have a right to have a vasectomy ? Does a woman have a right to have a tubal ligation?

That's right. If a man or woman is really 100% sure they never want to have a baby, no one is forcing them to have one.

The chances of pregnancy are virtually zero when you combine a tubal ligation with another form of contraception (like a diaphragm with spermicidal jelly).

There are 2 people involved, unless you are going to tell me that you believe in Immaculate Conception. And women already have "super" rights where abortion is concerned. They don't have to consult the Father of the child on whether to have an abortion or keep the child, they can then go to court and force the Father to pay child support. A woman can leave her child in a hot car in Houston and not be prosecuted, Oh it's depression she didn't know what she was doing. Women are consistently treated different from men, which is why there is no equality. Just saying what most are afraid to.

Mom Arrested In Leaving Child, 4, In Unlocked Car While She Shopped At O.C. Mall

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — An Anaheim mother faced child-cruelty charges Wednesday after she left her 4-year-old son in an unlocked car while she shopped at a local mall, authorities said.

Arica Jenee Ayala, 27, was taken into custody Tuesday night after officers responded to a report of an unattended child inside a vehicle in a parking lot at the Main Place Mall along the 2800 block of North Main Street, according to a Santa Ana Police spokesperson.

    ...

Ayala was arrested and booked on a charge of willful cruelty to a child. After failed attempts to locate the child’s father or another family member, the child was taken to Orangewood Children and Family Center in Santa Ana.

Notice the tones of the articles when it is a woman vs a man that leaves the child in a car to die.

So you don't know the difference between conception and pregnancy...OK

In pregnancy there is only one person, the woman who is pregnant. The man who made her pregnant isn't pregnant.

Women do not have extra or super rights where abortion is concerned. They have the same right to their own body you have.

OK, YOU think the father should be consulted ""on whether to have an abortion or keep the child""....so you think the father should be able to force the woman to have an abortion.

The woman does NOT force a man to pay child support, the LAW does.

That's right, the law holds the man RESPONSIBLE to fulfill certain obligations relating to the welfare of the child which HE took part in bringing into existence. If it's ok to put the man on the hook for 18 years, what's so unreasonable about putting the woman on the hook for 9 months? She can always give it away after gestation is complete.

Yes I know that pregnancy does not happen without conception, I have five kids and a real man is pregnant with his wife...I can't count the 3 am runs to the store or a McDonalds...And yes the man should have a right or a say because the woman did not get pregnant by herself. No I don't think the man should be able to force a woman to have an abortion, but he should be able to prevent an abortion through the court system if he is capable of providing for the child...And the LAW does not force a man to pay if the woman doesn't file for it.

There were NO abortion laws in the US until quite late. Why don't you read up on the subject before you shoot off your mouth?

Men do not have a "right" to sex either

Women do have a right to determine what happens to their bodies - and that includes removal of parasites

    - - - Updated - - -

Let us look at some equal footing here - if the man has a "right" to prevent abortion - then do women have a right to insist that a man gets sterilised to prevent further pregnancies?

    - - - Updated - - -

Sorry - since when did the woman not have anything to do with the child after birth? She too is responsible for the upkeep. Now if you think that 9 months pregnancy is so little then I suggest that you become pregnant.

It is medically possible for a male to host a pregnancy

it doesn't, be if she asks them to leave, they must leave.... if they are viable, so be it... then a baby is born... otherwise it's just a miscarriage\abortion

a miscarriage is a abortion, just not medically induced, most women have had at least one if not many miscarriages in their lives

There's a huge difference between dying from natural or accidental causes and being intentionally murdered.

Only the king of idiots (which describes no-one on this board) believes that condoms fully prevent pregnancy

    • Fifty-one percent of women who have abortions had used a contraceptive method in the month they got pregnant, most commonly condoms (27%) or a hormonal method (17%).[7]

    https://www.guttmacher.org/fact-sheet/induced-abortion-united-states

Over a quarter of abortions were because of failure of condoms

    - - - Updated - - -

How can you "murder" something that is not legally alive and may never BE "alive"?

If that "contraceptive method" was just haphazardly popping down a few birth control pills now and then, that's pretty much like asking for a pregnancy as far as I'm concerned.

Why did you call your kid Rifampicn?

Well, because I did not realise it would interfere with the contraceptive pill

Ok then why did you call your second child Noro virus

Well seems that diarrhoea can reduce the absorption of the contraceptive pill

Besides which - have to ever taken a daily medication? No one is 100% compliant every single day
