In the following article from the jewish newspaper The Forward we can read about how Israelis despise Americans, even the ones who support Israel, because they view them as stupid and gullible people who are easily manipulated:

    http://forward.com/news/israel/216074/what-do-israelis-think-about-americans-start-with/

In this article we learn that contempt for Americans is a widespread phenomenon in Israel, and we're even treated to a statement made by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a speech in which he bragged about how he can control the US government.

And in the following articles from Haaretz and Jewish Telegraphic Agency we learn that hatred of Christians is also very common in Israel:

    http://www.haaretz.com/christians-in-jerusalem-want-jews-to-stop-spitting-on-them-1.137099

    http://www.jta.org/2012/07/18/news-...hael-ben-ari-rips-up-throws-out-new-testament

My question for you is simple: why do so many Americans support a country where so many people despise them and their religion? All opinions are welcome.

    To Ronstar:

So your argument is basically: "Yeah, jews despise us and treat Christians in Israel badly, but Muslims are worse so we'll just put up with it." I'm sorry, but in my opinion that's ridiculous as it's clearly a false dilemma.

Only supporting people that like me seems like a rather shallow way to operate.

From reading that Forward.com article, it appears that many Israelis are angry with the Obama administration, as opposed to Americans in general.

Is this post supposed to make it OK for Muslims to attack Jews in the US?

That's good to know. Here in Europe most people seem to be disgusted with Israel's endless war crimes.

I don’t think so. Read the following quote again:
These negative comments are about the American people, not the Obama administration. Also, Netanyahu's statement about the jews' power over the US government was made when George W. Bush was president.

And finally, to those who say "Well, Muslims are worse", read the following thread:

Israel supports the Islamic State (IS, ISIS, ISIL)

    http://www.politicalforum.com/middle-east/455585-israel-supports-islamic-state-isis-isil.html

Because Americans are brain-washed, especially the religious nutters. I do not care if Israel exists or not. I just wish the government would stop handing over my tax-dollars to them.

Garbage... One article written by an obscure nobody that no one has ever heard of before or will hear again in the future means absolutely zilch. The Israelis love America and Americans... they may indeed view Americans as rather naive when it comes to the Middle East. Right or wrong the view is shared by the rest of the world. And many probably have no love lost for Obama. Who can blame them, the feeling is clearly mutual. But they admire the country and the American people.

Your personal contribution is $10/year and you do get a big chunk of it back in the form or military orders, shared intelligence etc. You better start worrying about real waste of your tax-dollars, this doesn't amount to pocket change

I don't think most people really care one way or the other about them other than they wish the whole region would just cease to exist.

    Certainly:

“Obama is very hostile against Israel,” said Effi Hasut, a 50-year-old hairdresser who was smoking on the patio outside his salon in downtown Jerusalem. “He tried to please the Arab world at our expense. He doesn’t understand them.”

It all sounds like nationalist hubris on many Israelis part. You are from a tiny, vulnerable country so you pretend you can manipulate the worlds most powerful nation.

What you may not appreciate, or chose not to appreciate is Israel has always had a taint of
ill regard for American Jews who do not immigrate to Israel.

Add to that the problem of Conservative and Reform Judaism being "American" institutions and only
Orthodox Judaism was recognized by the State of Israel. I believe the State has loosened a bit.

Add to that the unique ability of Jews to argue even until they are choking, getting blue in the face
and still be friends. Not killing each other. Rarely holding grudges.
Some may say, arguing is our national, or ethnic sport.

    Uhm…no?

I disagree. In the Forward article we learn that this view is widespread in Israel, and The Forward is hardly an obscure newspaper. I also posted excerpts from Haaretz and Jewish Telegraphic Agency that show how Christians are mistreated in Israel (jews spit on them, for Pete's sake!), and I have many more such articles in my archive.

But what about Netanyahu's arrogant statement about how easily he can manipulate the US government? He made it long before Obama took office, which shows that jewish contempt for Americans isn't the result of the Obama administration's policies, which aren't even anti-Israel, by the way. I mean, take a look at the following articles:

    http://www.timesofisrael.com/obama-signs-anti-bds-bill-into-law/

Obama tells guests at White House Hanukkah celebration, 'I'm Jewish in my soul'

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...House-Hanukkah-celebration-m-Jewish-soul.html

    And jews still complain…

I suppose you're just trying to be funny, but I would like to point out to our readers that "goyishe kop" is a racial slur that jews often use to describe non-jews. It literally means "non-jewish head", but it can also mean idiot because, you know, we non-jews are just sooo stupid:

Someone who fails to use his/her head; a dull mind. Someone who thinks like a non-Jew. Lit. "non-Jewish head."

    http://www.jewish-languages.org/jewish-english-lexicon/words/1279

When whites use slurs about jews it's horrible and racist, but when jews use slurs about non-jews it's funny and charming. Yeah, whatever.

Okay, here's my answer, and I hope that my bad English doesn't mess it up. (I'm not a native speaker.) Yes, jews argue with each other, but when it comes to Israel the vast majority of them seems to speak with one voice: American jews, European jews, Israeli jews, leftist jews, right-wing jews, heterosexual jews, homosexual jews… most of them seem to support the racist bandit state and its endless war crimes against the Palestinians.

A good example of this is the jewish congressman Howard Berman:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Howard_Berman

Berman belongs to a political party that represents leftist/liberal Americans, and he wants thirld world immigration for the US, yet he calls himself a "zionist" and supports a country (Israel) that commits terrible atrocities against Palestinians and treats its African immigrants like garbage:

Israel's Interior Minister: All African Migrants Should Be Jailed

    http://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/...ll-african-migrants-should-be-jailed-1.430800

Israeli Kristallnacht: Africans attacked in Tel Aviv anti-migrant demo

    https://www.rt.com/news/israel-anti-migrant-demo-061/

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miri_Regev

Yes, Berman is just one person, but I can give you countless more examples of prominent, influential US (and European) jews who are liberals/leftists when it comes to their Western host countries but right-wing extremists when it comes to supporting Israel's racist, murderous regime.
