All of this touted to insure 30 some million out of 300 million plus.

As the WSJ reports, the insurers’ proposed rates for individual coverage in states that have made their 2017 requests public largely bear out health plans’ grim predictions about their challenges under the health-care overhaul. According to the insurers’ filings with regulators, large plans in states including New York, Pennsylvania and Georgia are seeking to raise rates by 20% or more.

Blame the insurance companies for not insuring those people on their own.

I always had the though that the insurance business should not be a For Profit enterprise.

Good it is time the American taxpayer stopped subsidizing the insurance industry.

I wonder what will happen to the estimated 300,000 people employed by health insurance companies.

Word. My insurance has been going up much more than the projected rate on that chart since the PPACA went into effect.

So Americans should kerp subsidizing a corrupt healthcare system because it provides employment. Next thing you will be advocating invading Iraq because it employs soldiers.

    Yeah, not likely.

Insurers are regulated by the states. They often ask for large premium increases, and rarely get them. When large increases do go through, they are the exception, not the norm.

    The actual numbers:

On average, premiums have risen by about 5.8 percent a year since Obama took office, compared to 13.2 percent in the nine years before Obama.

If central government health care is fair, it will inevitably cost the young more because they do not have the health issues the elderly have. However, giving power to the government over YOUR healthcare will most likely result in end of life counseling instead of treatment when you get old.
