I'm currently reading Max Hasting's new book on Britain's secret war against Nazi Germany. I have read a couple of books on the subject, including a biography of Alan Turing, the brilliant mathematician codebreaker at Bletchley Park during the Second World War. American codebreakers also played a major role in the Battle of Midway, who correctly deciphered Japanese messages, and AF was thus confirmed as Midway. Yamamoto Isoroku was planning another surprise attack but the Americans knew his secret plan to attack American fleets at Midway in advance.
