More than 1,200 cases of female genital mutilation (FGM) have been recorded in England over the past three months despite the practice being outlawed in Britain for more than 30 years.
Between January and March there were 1,242 newly recorded cases of the practice, including 11 girls born in the United Kingdom, according to National Health Service (NHS) data released by the Health and Social Care Information Centre.

At least two percent of new cases involved girls under the age of 18. Seven women or girls included in the figures claim the illegal practice was carried out in the UK.

The practice, made illegal in the UK in 1985, involves either partial or total removal of the female external genitalia, typically with a blade or razor and sometimes without anesthesia.

It includes the cutting away of the clitoris and the fold of skin above it, and removing the labia. The most extreme form, called infibulation, involves sewing up the vulva to make a small hole for urine and menstrual blood to pass through.

Sometimes the vagina is then cut open for sex or childbirth, and sewn up again.

There has never been a successful prosecution against anyone found to practice FGM.

In response to the findings, the Royal College of Midwives adviser Janet Fyle urged health workers to be “vigilant” when it comes to identifying and tackling FGM.

“These figures show that we need renewed and focused efforts to tackle FGM. This has to be backed by a national action plan so that all sectors and all professionals see FGM as their business, and protecting girls from such abuses becomes a normal part of their practice,” she told the Independent.

Since April 2014, the NHS has been required to collect data on FGM from women attending hospitals, GP surgeries and mental health centers.

Last July, the government launched a program with the aim of ending the practice within a generation.

Home Secretary Theresa May said 137,000 women are living with the consequences of FGM in the UK, while a further 60,000 are at risk.

As well as being illegal in the UK, it is also illegal to take a female abroad for the purposes of FGM, with a maximum jail term of 14 years for carrying out or enabling FGM.

Too bad they don't post the numbers of Male Gentile Mutulation.

As for them poor females and their mutilations, almost by default the people who do that are their own mothers or grandmothers. Women are from Mars...

Circumcision, or the removal of vaginal flap skin is one thing, but sewing the vagina up is a whole another matter entirely.

The #1 role model in the world for 1.5 billion humans (Mohammad) approved of FGM, so they are just doing what their hero approved of. So do we blame them....or do we blame their role model for approving of that awful behavior in the first place? Or do we blame both?

Egypt seeks tougher punishment for female genital mutilation
Tuesday 30th August, 2016 - Women's rights activists hailed the Egyptian government on Monday for advocating increased prison sentences for perpetrators of female genital mutilation (FGM) but warned that a new law could shroud the practice in greater secrecy.

These poor little girls - and the boys - are almost literally sacrificial lambs at the altar of political correctness and abject appeasement of the religious vote. It's the ultimate betrayal of the weakest by the strongest: shame on our politicians for their self-serving cowardice.

I prefer plastic breasts and girls with fat sucked out of their massive arses and injected into their face - The best bit is they mutilate themselves and do it thinking that it actually makes them look better!!

Hmm lets see, their hero was a sinful child rapist, a fierce religious cult leader who corrupted scriptures...Lets round them all up and shoot them all. Their stupidity knows no bounds. The world will be a much better place without people who believe this sickness thinking. Fact.

Anyone taking a child out of the UK to be cut faces 14 years in prison in the UK and female genital mutilation is usually performed in Africa during summer vacations. Close to 90% of newly recorded cases are African girls, mostly Somalis, and they had somehow avoided detection in the past. I don't think NHS doctors have many opportunities to inspect young girls' private parts and the majority of them could have arrived in the UK after their female genital organs were altered almost at birth.

Angelina doesnt look good after plastic surgery?

    What about Kim?

Plastic surgery is sort of like getting a tattoo. Just like bad tattoo artist exist, bad plastic surgeons exist.

Dont use this example as a staple.

Anyway. Back to the topic. Im not a fan of plastic surgery

    But I say-
Better plastic breasts then ironed breast.

Muhammad was man of his time. He took a bunch of Bandits and mase a country and religion.

No doubt his teachings were considered peaceful as before Muhammad they just raided caravans to and from Asia.

So I blame Muslims as they follow teachings based on an outdated moral code

    FGM isn't Islamic, it's tribal.

My position is simple: so long as it is legal to have your son circumcised for non-medical reasons, it should be legal to have your daughter circumcised.

It would be discriminatory of me to suppose otherwise.

Removal of a piece of skin and removal of the clitoris sound the same to you ? for a male it will be like cutting off the tip of your penis :omfg:

Thats why I said that cutting excess skin or vigina flaps is one thing. Removing the clitoris and or sewing up the vagina is a who other matter entirely.

One is a tribal / barbaric practice like a fire mark saying welcome to the clan, the other serves no purpose but oppresing women making sure they wont enjoy sex and wont seek it so the husband can feel secure on his camel in the desert.

The principle is the same: mutilation for religious reasons.

Make both illegal except for medical reasons, or provide a system where they can both be done safely for religious reasons.

Or you can keep both and only allow removal of excess skin or its equivalent.

Cutting the clitoris off and or sewing up a vigina is extreme and it violates human rights.

Mutilation is mutilation regardless of what you cut off ? I think you'd rather have an African bone nose than cutting the tip of our penis man, cutting off the clitoris of a woman is illegal in many if not most Muslim countries it's not just a religous practice its a tool of slavery.
