I don't know about average Joe out there But I'm so sick of that dope and his My Pillow TV ad.Plus the guy is full of crap.I got a My Pillow about 5 years ago when I got some Inheritance and bought a new bed.The guy at the mattress store talked me into. It's been sitting in my junk room the last 5 years.I used it and noticed I had really bad neck pains.I finally deduced it was that My Pillow.About a year ago I started researching reviews of My Pillow.Sure enough,a lot of similar complaints. So I checked my Junk room to test the pillow again. here's the thingy. The My Pillow I bought in 2011 was One Piece memory Foam. The one this guy in his blue silk shirt is Pushing like crazy is totally different. It is PIECES of Memory foam like 2-3 inch rectangle shapes. That is the difference. And that's all he did.He took his original One Piece of memory Foam and cut into a bunch of pieces so that the Pillow better forms to your overall head. With memory foam in one piece it will kinda form itself into that shape and may cause a loss of proper reinforcement for one's head and neck. Which explains why this guy is on a TV ad blitz. He's got to recoup loses from those years where his Pillow did not work anything as advertised. Which explains his buy one and get another free with a lifetime guarantee. Lifetime guarantees don't mean squat. What if his business goes under. What good is any guarantee then.
I know a little about Advertising.I did my High school senior project at a Downtown Cleveland Ad Agency. One of the top floors of the Big Illuminating Co. bldg. in Downtown Cleveland square. I worked on the 2 week project with a fellow classmate. Our Tutor or guide was a very personable guy.Kinda tall.He explained he had flat feet.Made a few jokes about.Having shaken his hand,I kinda knew more about men with flat feet. They probably have flat hands also.We learned the basics about the type of Advertising { Bandwagon, testimonials etc. } However I don't recall ever learning about the approach this My Pillow guy uses. This Blitzkrieg, never let up for a minute approach that His Pillow is the best Pillow on earth.he guarantees it. Therefore it must be true.Like his Mommy told him to say it and who knows best than a grown man's mommy.
This is personal to me.Because I bought a My Pillow in 2011 along with a new mattress.I had a real problem with near severe neck pain. From out of nowhere.I concluded after about a week it had to be that new pillow. And it was.So when last year after seeing numerous My Pillow commercials on TV I started wondering.Wasn't that a My Pillow I bought in 2011.? I wasn't sure as I forgot all about it.So I decided to check where I put that New Pillow {Rather expensive at around $ 50 bucks }.I wasn't even sure it was a My Pillow. But I was kinda sure. Sure enough it was a My Pillow and it was hardly used and kept in it's original container. So I have it as proof. It was the culprit as to my near severe neck pain. It was a Pillow with a one piece memory foam. That explained it. Memory foam acts differently when cut to order in small rectangular chunks. That's what this My Pillow guy did.He probably meant well the entire time. But it wasn't to be.Now there's memory foam everywhere. In our shoes ... you name it.
Yep. New pillows often suck unless they are exactly the same as your old pillow. I have a big beautiful high dollar pillow that I put on the bed when I think someone is coming over I want to impress by actually making the bed, but it goes away before I climb into it. I have a bunch of old flattened out pillows that I actually use to sleep on.
My spouse bought me one. I never would have. I have to pretend I like it, and it takes up space at the side of the bed. It does have a function, though. In the wintertime, it keeps me away from the cold outer wall. Also, all year long, it keeps things from falling over the side of the bed. I have learned to accept its existence, and live with it; but I live in total fear. Lately my spouse has been inquiring about it, praising it, and is obviously thinking about getting more of them...... Help.
Just what I expected.Any and all Original My Pillow reviews from years ago { Like what I researched last year } have been scrubbed from the Internet. This is typical. It speaks volumns. It also explains this My Pillow Creeps desperate need to Blitzkrieg Tv after Tv commercial.Because his original Product was Inferior. In fact,it caused problems instead of relieving them.
The Newer My Pillow { the last few years } is probably worlds better than his Original chunk of mere memory foam. But the lesson is still the same. You,as consumer are being schmucked. If there is a faulty product, you may end up being the last to know. It's just the way Business and Advertising work today.Like the HBO TV - Mad Men -.You as Consumer are mere toys to be exploited.
rule no.1...never buy anything that is advertised on t.v that is not sold in stores...if the product was good stores would sell them...anything just on t.v is a scam..
Aren't we taking this a little too seriously? The pillows aren't really that expensive, and you are just as likely to buy a pillow at a department store that for whatever reason doesn't satisfy. This company you all are trashing offers a money back guarantee. The FTC will not let them say that if they don't honor it. Anyway, if you don't want one, don't buy one.
The only person I know who bought a memory foam mattress said that a user sinks down into it, and it's like having to climb out of a hollow every time he turned over (past tense - he sent it back!) during sleep.
Why don't you go to a chiropractor? A good chiropractor is worth his weight in gold and you don't have to take a handful of pills.......
Absolutely true "Not available in stores",.....because no reputable establishment will touch this turkey.
This is so funny. This My Pillow is not some feather { goose feather } Pillow. It's just memory foam that's been cut into squares/rectangles. My how impressionable the average consumer is out there.
I bought last fall a pillow that I was able to test out on a bed. It felt good and it's a Sealy Posturepedic.I waited till last night to use. It has some kind of gel outter that keeps one head cooler in summer. But it's memory Foam. Well,I woke up { which I normally do a few times each night } and was uncomfortable. So I went back to my old pillow. I suished down and the 2 pillow are different and for a reason. Memory foam is bullsh!t. You press down and it forms an impression and doesn't fludd back out.My other pillow { an older pillow with some kind of foam ,not memory } fluffs right back out. That's the difference. You don't want a pillow that collapses and forms an impression of your head and does not fluff back out.Imagine a chair doing that. You sit in it and it sinks in and forms an impression of yer buttocks. You want a chair that does the opposite. It stays firm and supports yer buttocks.Without feeling like a wooden board. N'cest pas ?
Good grief..... if you SIT on something, you're putting 1/2 of your BODY weight on it, not just the weight of your head and there's no comparison b/t the materials used to make a chair and a pillow. Why don't you just return your 'money back guarantee' pillow, then get a good night's sleep b/c you won't be stressed out about it anymore?.
