A simply amazing child opera prodigy, Laura Bretan.
That show does bring out a lot of good talent. She looks kind of Persian. Annnnd She has that downpat. Vocal acting she has. Will her voice change when she gets older? It may. She still has the talent. She'll be OK. Probably still be Coloratura, too.
She is Romanian and I found out after the fact that she won Romania's Got Talent recently. I'm wondering how she's able to compete on AGT after winning Romania's Got Talent. I thought Simon Cowell owned the rights to all the Got Talent in all countries so he would know about her. In any case, here's another opera prodigy who came in second on AGT but is now a well known star. And Jackie Evancho recently:
Alisan Porter played Curly Sue in the movie of the same title. This was the blind audition. She eventually went on to win The Voice.
Jack Vidgen, winner of Australia's Got Talent 2011. This is his audition:
Jonathan and Charlotte's semi-final performance on Britain's Got Talent: They actually came in 2nd place but earned a recording contract with Simon Cowell's recording company SyCo.
Need to revive this thread since I found another opera prodigy. Patricia Janeckova was the winner of Czech's Got Talent at age 12. This was her audition: She is now 18 years old and an amazing well polished soprano:
Cristina Ramos, winner of Spain's Got Talent 2016, from opera to pop to rock, this lady rocks. This was her audition:
Love America's Got Talent. Haven't seen any of the others, but that little girl Patricia did an amazing job on Por Ti Volare. That is a beautiful song when done properly. I did notice the little Romanian girl this year, and thought she was really good. I was never a fan of Jackie Evancho, though, and it was more of a personal thing. She was a YouTuber, and was brought into the show very late in the season. She didn't have to really pay any dues, she didn't have to go through all the different auditions that the other contestants did. She just waltzed on there and finished at number 2, without having to go through anything really hard. She's there, auditioning, and then a couple of weeks later, she's a finale. Just never seemed fair to me. That being said, I had my favorite that season anyway, and he finished at #4. Amazing talent, this guy. Amira Willighagen, winner of Holland's Got Talent at age 9. And 3 years later:
That may be but that's not her fault, it was AGT's format that season. She is an amazing opera prodigy who should have won (she got 2nd place) because she was absolutely the best talent that season on AGT without regard to her age.
8 year old Angelina Jordan, winner of Norway's Got Talent
I am thoroughly amazed by this child, a reincarnation of Billie Holiday. Here she is recently singing "I put a spell on you".
She's a major talent, so she rated the special treatment imho; AGT has lots of crappy acts, for filler, so it didn't harm anybody else with genuine talent. In any case, her new CD is out,'Two Hearts', and she keeps getting better and better. It's more 'pop' than her last on 'Awakening' and I like the song choices on that one better, but this two CD set is excellent production quality and her voice incredible; she's now 16 or 17 and one of the top voices of this century, and will be around a while. She's an interpretative genius.
Thanks for the thread. Never heard her sing until a friend loans me her Awakening CD, and after hearing that I went and bought everything she had out I could find, even the 'Silver Screen' CD, and I hate show tunes, that's how good I think she is. Pretty much the same with Jonathan and Charlotte, never heard of them until 5-6 years after the AGT shows. Didn't even know they had the AGT there and in Europe. I'm also a big fan of Sarah Brightman, and Katernine Jenkins. Great thread, by the way; keep bumping it.
Seems that way; I think most people aren't emotionally equipped to handle fame, or the see sawing between being on stage with a auditorium full wildly screaming fans one moment and then being alone. Show business is an emotional roller coaster for most, though it shouldn't be. Bands probably handle it better, having a group to share it with as opposed to being a solo star.
There's a "Got Talent" show in almost every country, thanks to Simon Cowell. There's also a "The Voice" in almost every country and some have a "The Voice Kids" version but not in the US. If you search YouTube you can find a wealth of young vocal talent from all over the world. I found this singer in a similar singing contest in China and started a thread just for him, he is incredible.
